Articulation Agreements

Among
Ramapo College's numerous articulation agreements with area
institutions of higher learning there are several in the health
professions field. Requirements to be considered for regular
or direct admission to these institution may be subject to change: (Please consult the catalogue of the partner institution for any current changes)
Dentistry
New York University College of Dentistry
a) Have completed 90 credits (including all pre-professional
required courses) by the end of the Junior year.
b) Have a minimum 3.2 Grade Point Average.
c) Have no final grade of D or F in the courses listed above.
d) Have passed the DAT.
e) Have been recommended by the Health Science Advisory Committee.
With these conditions met. students can apply directly
to N.Y.U. College of Dentistry. After successfully completing
their first year at N.Y.U., students receive their Bachelor
of Science Degree from Ramapo. Upon completion of the remainder
of the program at N.Y.U., students receive a D.D.S. from N.Y.U.
College of Dentistry.
University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Dental
School
a) Have completed 100 credits (including all pre-professional
required courses) by the end of the Junior year.
b) Have a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average.
c) Have no final grade of D or F in the courses listed above.
d) Have passed the DAT.
e) Have been recommended by the Health Science Advisory Committee.
With these conditions met, students can apply to UMDNJ Dental School. After successfully completing their
first year at UMDNJ School of Dentistry, students receive their
Bachelor of Science Degree from Ramapo.
Upon completion of the remainder of the program at UMDNJ, students
receive a D.M.D. from UMDNJ Dental School.
Medicine
UMDNJ School of Osteopathic Medicine (SOM)
a) Have graduated from Ramapo College with a minimum 3.0 Grade
Point Average.
b) Have no final grade of D or F in the courses listed above.
c) Have passed the MCAT with a median score of 7 or better.
d) Have been recommended by the Health Science Advisory Committee.
With these conditions met, students are eligible to apply for regular
admission to the UMDNJ-SOM, Stratford, New Jersey. Students
may be eligible for early admission into the SOM after completing
their Junior year and successful early completion of the MCATs.
B.S/Doctor of Optometry Degrees
An articulated program between SUNY State College of Optometry
and Ramapo College of New Jersey leading to the completion of
the baccalaureate degree and the doctor of optometry degree
(O.D.).
Qualified students have the opportunity to complete a B.S. and
the doctor of optometry in just seven years, one year less than
normal. Students accepted to the program are admitted to a designated,
prescribed major at Ramapo College and to candidacy at the SUNY College of Optometry professional program
of study.
Participating students will enroll at Ramapo College for coursework
leading to the B.S. degree. During the first three years, students
will complete all prerequisite coursework for entrance into
SUNY College of Optometry as well as additional coursework required
by the General Education program and the individual students
course of study in a major. This will allow them to fulfill
the baccalaureate degree requirements upon successful completion
of their first year of professional study at SUNY College of
Optometry after admission.
