Thomas Gould earned a B.S. in political science in 1984 and a bachelor’s degree in literature in 1986 from Ramapo College. He later earned a master’s degree in English from North Carolina State University and a doctorate in English from University of North Carolina-Greensboro. His dissertation focused on the works of Ernest Hemingway. Gould remained in North Carolina where he joined the faculty as professor, department chair and dean at Durham Technical Community College. He is currently vice president of academic affairs at Pitt Community College, Winterville, North Carolina.
