Success Stories

Belen Auquilla

“Be curious. Go outside. Eat happy. Be adventurous. Be kind.

I’m Belen, currently in my senior year, and while it’s a bit bittersweet that my college journey is nearing its end, I’ve had some incredible experiences along the way. Thanks to Ramapo Abroad, I had the opportunity to travel to Prague, fulfilling one of my long-time goals. If I could describe Prague in one word, it would be peaceful.

Traveling abroad brought not just fun memories but also meaningful experiences that have shaped who I am today. I’ve grown more comfortable with myself and have embraced independence. My time in Prague also included valuable clinical and therapy experiences, along with learning through museum visits and engaging with locals, listening to their stories, and understanding their perspectives.

As a psychology major with a minor in sociology, these experiences have deepened my understanding of human behavior and social dynamics. They’ve also fueled my curiosity and desire to explore the world, always with kindness and an adventurous spirit.” – Belen Auquilla ’25 is a Psychology major with a Sociology minor. She is a part of the Association of Latinos Moving Ahead (ALMA) and studied abroad in the summer of 2024 to Prague, Czech Republic.
