“As a commuter student, I appreciate the small class sizes and the opportunity to get to know the professor and my classmates well. Professors are always available to offer advice on a difficult subject and many classmates are willing to lend a hand and are there for you when you need to relax from the stress.” – Michael Flood ’17 graduated with a degree in Environmental Science and minors in Earth Science and Biology. Michael is the 2015 recipient of the Edward R. Hall/Robert R. Hanna Scholarship from the Firman E. Bear Chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society. He became an Eagle Scout in 2011. Michael has a passion for agriculture, mainly growing heirloom crops. He placed 2nd in the N.J. State Fair Open Vegetable show for 2015 and 2016 and is the 2016 Garlic Grand Champion. He is currently the Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 79. Michael also has done field research on the Ramapo meadow, including plant surveys and flowering times, which can be used as an educational tool for residential/commercial properties.
