“I am strongly involved in Active Minds, the mental health advocacy club on campus, as a member of the eboard. I love all the work I do in the club to raise awareness of mental illness and break stigmas on Ramapo’s campus. This past summer I went to the University College Dublin in Dublin, Ireland, for a month to take a nursing research class. The trip was incredible to say the least. The program at UCD was great and I learned so much. Dublin is such a fun and lively place but also has an important history. I also took day trips across the country to the Cliffs of Moher, Cork, Blarney Castle (and kiss the Blarney Stone for good luck), Killarney, the Ring of Kerry, and more. The trip helped me gain independence and new knowledge, but also helped me find a love for traveling and the complexities of different cultures. I decided to become a Global Roadrunner to help my fellow students travel the world, experience new cultures, meet new people, and find a deep love for travel.” – Melissa Mitariten ’18 graduated with a degree in Nursing and a Psychology minor.
