“As a transfer student from Quinnipiac University, my time at Ramapo College was nothing short of transformative. Majoring in history with a minor in anthropology, I immediately experienced culture shock at the empathy and attention to detail from my professors. Each one knew my name and challenged me to refine my craft, even in a primarily virtual setting during the COVID-19 pandemic. My final research project on “Civil War Medicine,” guided by Professor Taranto, was a surreal experience that filled me with pride. It pushed me to develop resilience as I connected with unfamiliar professors and utilized alumni networks to arrange meetings with museum curators and archivists. This invaluable experience motivated me to pursue my current role as a paralegal in New Jersey.
After graduating, I earned my Paralegal Certificate from Mercer County Community College (MCCC), finishing at the top of my class. This academic foundation, along with a newfound passion for reading and puzzling, has been instrumental in my career, where I even have a pending case before the Supreme Court. Ramapo taught me perseverance, intellectual curiosity, and the importance of building connections—skills that continue to shape my professional journey.” – Rachel Korinski ’21 graduated as a History major with a minor in Anthropology.
