Anitra Thompson

“Ramapo’s unwavering support and encouragement have been instrumental in my journey toward securing my certification as a K-6 elementary education teacher. The program’s rigorous curriculum, combined with hands-on experiences, truly prepared me for the challenges and rewards of teaching.

I can’t thank Dr. Good and the entire faculty enough for their guidance and mentorship, which have been pivotal in helping me secure my dream job as a fifth-grade math and science teacher. The confidence I gained through my coursework and student teaching placement was invaluable in helping me apply the theories and strategies I learned to real classroom settings.

My journey at Ramapo was further enriched by the support of my peers and the inspiring leadership of professors like Dr. Donna Volpe, Ms. Courtney Rejent, Mr. Tom Gambino, and Mr. Kyle Arlington, who consistently went the extra mile to ensure that we were not only well-prepared but also genuinely excited for our futures in education. The collaborative environment fostered at Ramapo, along with the personalized attention from faculty, made all the difference in my educational journey.

I’m deeply grateful for the comprehensive education and mentorship provided, and I am eagerly looking forward to continuing my studies at Ramapo by pursuing a Master’s in Special Education. I know that the strong foundation I’ve built here will continue to support me as I grow both personally and professionally.” -Anitra Thompson ’25 is a part of the TA to Teacher program and she will earn her Master’s degree in Special Education.
