Allie Grinkevich

“Ramapo College provided me with the opportunity to take a wide range of interdisciplinary courses while obtaining a Liberal Studies degree. I took courses in Global Climate Change, Existentialism, Natural History and Applied Field Ecology, Social Theory, and World Wisdom Traditions, among others. I particularly enjoyed the philosophy courses, as they helped me to further develop my writing and critical thinking skills. Most important, the professors at Ramapo College offered meaningful advice and provided valuable connections which helped me to start my career in the environmental not-for-profit field.

Also, I am very excited that Philosophy is now being offered as a major at Ramapo College.” – Allie Grinkevich ’16 graduated with a degree in Liberal Studies and minors in Philosophy and Environmental Studies. While at Ramapo, Allie made Dean’s List for six consecutive semesters, was selected for Scholar’s Day 2016, received the Writing Across the Curriculum 2014 Student Writing Award, and was the President/Vice President of Outdoors Club. She completed research on “Human Perception of Non-Human Animals” as part of the capstone for the Liberal Studies major with Professor Lisa Cassidy and presented research on “Illegal Dumping and Off-Roading on Stag Hill in Mahwah, N.J.” at the Ramapo Watershed Conference 2017. Allie is now the Executive Assistant at MEVO (Mahwah Environmental Volunteers Organization, Inc.).
