Success Stories

Kathryn Cabrera

Entering my freshman year, I was only 100 percent confident about one thing: That I was going to study abroad. My sister had studied abroad in Spain and her experience led me to go to a study abroad interest meeting on campus. Instantly, I was hooked! I began planning which classes to take each year to determine which semester would be the most beneficial to go abroad. With all of Ramapo’s many options, deciding on a program took some time; but I am so glad I decided on Maynooth University in Ireland. I took field courses in archeology that led me to historical sites while helping me fulfill classes in my anthropology minor. The memories and friends I made during this trip will stay with me forever. I am so grateful for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. The Roukema Center really goes out of the way to ensure every student who wants to study abroad has the chance to do so and helped make the application process run smoothly. I am so excited to be joining the Global Roadrunners to inspire other students to take advantage of the numerous study abroad opportunities Ramapo College has to offer! – Kathryn Cabrera ’20 graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology with an Anthropology minor. At Ramapo, Kathryn was involved in the Beekeeping Club (President), was a Global Roadrunner, was in 1Step, and in the Journal Club. Kathryn had an internship with the Rockland Conservation and Service Corps from May to August 2018.
