Ramapo Success Story

“Ramapo College has become my academic home over the past seven years. My colleagues in law and society, the School for Social Science and Human Services, and across campus have been fantastic to work with and inspiring in their commitment to our students and the liberal arts model. Ramapo’s identity as a public liberal arts school, in particular, is one of the key reasons I am happy to be part of this community.

The Ramapo Journal of Law and Society is one of my proudest accomplishments. The Journal provides a wonderful opportunity for our best students (in law and society and other programs) to learn how to manage a publication, from soliciting papers to the publication itself. It is also a rare opportunity for Ramapo students and students from around the country (e.g. Allegheny College, UC Berkeley) to publish their research at the undergraduate level. The Journal’s editor-in-chief is usually a Ramapo senior, and the outgoing editor, Amer Garlasco, has truly managed the entire publication process and set the bar very high for future editors.”

Mihaela Serban is an Associate Professor of Law and Society and first joined Ramapo in 2010. For more information, please visit Mihaela’s Faculty Profile.
