Donna Crawley

“I have had wonderful teaching and research experiences at Ramapo College. I have had the opportunity to collaborate on scholarly projects with faculty members in a variety of disciplines, such as marketing, sociology and teacher education. These interdisciplinary collaborations have been very enriching. In addition, I have had great students along the way — in my classes and in my research lab.

Throughout my career at Ramapo, I have worked continuously with students on professional research projects. Sometimes working one-on-one, and sometimes in teams, my students and I have done research in the areas of marketing, gender and work, and perceptions of criminal defendants. We have presented at professional regional and national conferences, and, in one case, published in a referred journal. I have presented with students at conferences in New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, Buffalo, Long Beach, and San Francisco. I am very proud of the students who have worked with me. Many have gone on to graduate school and have continued their careers in psychology.

This summer, I am working with three ‘visiting students’: two from Bergen Community College and one from The College of New Jersey. We are working on studies related to perceptions of defendants in homicide and fraud cases as a function of the defendant’s motivations. This has been a great experience, and we are coming up with some very interesting results. Hopefully, we will be presenting our work at a regional conference next year.”
