The Center for Student Success staff is committed to making the first-year experience memorable for students—one filled with helpful information, an introduction to campus resources, a warm welcome from the Ramapo community, guidance from peer mentors, networking opportunities and occasions for parent and family engagement.
Our goal is to provide a seamless transition that begins with New Student Orientation and continues through a student’s first semester and academic career –preparing them for graduation and the future ahead.
Orientation is a chance for students to get a sense of the campus they will call home over the next few years, and to connect with the peers and faculty members who will be with them along the way.
Peer Facilitators are among the first friends new students will connect with during their initial weeks on campus. These upperclassmen will serve as mentors throughout the students’ First-Year Seminar courses in the fall by sharing their experiences, facilitating the transition to college life at Ramapo and highlighting campus resources.
Family Day provides parents and family members an opportunity to reconnect with their students following their first few weeks as Roadrunners, while celebrating their successes and new experiences.
Welcome Week allows students to get settled on campus and to take advantage of amenities and social events offered to residents and commuters, while officially kicking off their academic careers during the Annual Arching Ceremony.
The Majors & Minors Fair showcases the wide variety of academic programming that Ramapo has to offer. Student representatives and faculty members from each department are available to answer questions and guide students choosing courses of study.
