Dear Ramapo Student:

In order to continually improve upon the Ramapo College student experience, the College reviewed meal plan offerings in Dining Services and updates have been approved with respect to meal plan offerings.

Meal Plan Offerings

The College continues to offer a traditional meal plan that is inclusive of Flex dollars and each plan now offers more Flex dollars.  Flex dollars can be used in the Atrium, Birch Tree Inn, Dunkin, Common Grounds, and Micro Markets.

Ultimate Plan offers unlimited access to the Birch Tree Inn and includes $200 Flex per semester. The update reflects $100 more Flex per semester than before.

Maroon 14 Plan replaces the Maroon 12 Plan. The Maroon 14 Plan offers 14 meals per week with $300 Flex per semester.  The update reflects 2 additional meals per week and an additional $50 Flex per semester than before.

Tasty 10 Plan offers 10 meals per week and $500 Flex per semester. The update reflects an additional $400 Flex per semester.

If you do not reside in a residence area that is required to have a meal plan or are a commuter and are interested in signing up for a meal plan, there are also several options other than the traditional plans mentioned above.  You can find information about Flex Dollars, Ramapo Dollars, and Block plans here.

New for the 2024-2025 academic year is that you may now use both your Flex and Ramapo Dollars at either of our two Micro Market locations (Pavilion and Fishbowl). Micro Markets offer 24-hour access to a range of snacks, meals, beverages, and sundries. Any unused Flex from the fall semester will roll over into the spring semester, provided you retain a traditional meal plan for the spring semester.

Next Steps

New Students: All new resident students were required to select a meal when completing the Fall 2024 Housing Application process. If you would like to change your meal plan, please see the information below under the heading “Changes.”

Returning Students: If you have already selected a meal plan:

• The Ultimate Plan will roll over into the newly designed Ultimate Plan

• What was known as the Maroon 12 will roll over into the newly designed Maroon 14

• The Tasty 10 Plan will roll over into the newly designed Tasty 10

• Discontinued Simple 7: The College will no longer offer the “Simple 7” meal plan.  If you are a continuing student who was eligible to participate in Housing Selection and selected the Simple 7 meal plan for Fall 2024, you will be permitted to keep that meal plan for Fall 2024 only.  You will need to select from one of the current meal plan offerings for Spring 2025, or you will automatically be assigned to the Tasty 10.

Changes: Should you wish to change your meal plan selection please send an email from your Ramapo email account to mealplan@ramapo.edu.  Be sure to include your name, R number and new meal plan selection. The last day to make any meal plan changes will be September 10, 2024.

Commuters or Residents of Village/College Park Apartments:  If you wish to select a meal plan, please send an email from your Ramapo email account to mealplan@ramapo.edu.  Be sure to include your name, R number and meal plan selection.
