The International Honor Society in Psychology
Psi Chi (pronounced Sigh-Kigh) is the internationally recognized honor society in psychology. In addition to recognition of academic excellence, the benefits of membership include sessions at professional conferences for Psi Chi student presentations, funding sources for conference travel and research, and the opportunity to publish in Psi Chi’s research journal. In order to be qualified to apply for acceptance to Psi Chi at Ramapo College, a student must be a psychology major, a psychology minor, or a neuroscience minor and meet the following requirements:
at least a 3.3 GPA overall at Ramapo College
at least a 3.3 GPA in psychology at Ramapo College
at least 3 full semesters of completed college work
at least 12 credits of psychology coursework completed at Ramapo College
Please note that these requirements are stricter than the national Psi Chi requirements! Be sure to follow these requirements rather than the ones listed on the national Psi Chi website.
Completed applications should be filed by October 20, 2023.
You must have the minimum required GPA when you apply.
The applications will be reviewed soon after the submission deadline and accepted students will be notified in early November.
An induction ceremony will be held in November.
Dues are required after a student has been accepted into Psi Chi and has agreed to join. The dues are $75 per member ($55 for a lifetime membership in the international honor society and $20 for the induction costs at the local chapter). There are no other continuing costs to membership.
