Douglas Holden and Jean Weng are the parents of a Ramapo alum, Austin, who graduated in 2023 and was enrolled in the College’s ENHANCE program. They also have two daughters. Over the span of many years, the Holdens have long-championed the cause of students with unique abilities.
In raising their family in northern New Jersey, the Holdens were already familiar with Ramapo College when Austin attended a campus program during high school. Ramapo became the only school to which Austin applied and the family is pleased with his progress and the College’s commitment to all of its students, both in and out of the classroom.
The purpose of the Holden Family Scholarship is to assist Ramapo students with special needs in meeting tuition expenses, which can be compounded by costs associated with their special needs.
Alyse Turk of Wayne N.J. is an Accounting major in the MBA 4+1 program with a 3.8 GPA and has been on the Dean’s List every semester since she has been at Ramapo. She is also a member of Alpha Lambda Delta and National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
At Ramapo, Alyse is an active member of Ramapo’s accounting club, Leaders in Service, and is working for SARM at Ramapo’s financial department. This past summer, Alyse worked full-time as a personal banker at Valley Bank. She learned how to manage money, work with clients’ money, and learned marketing through product promotions.
After graduation, Alyse plans to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Andrew McWha of Wyckoff, N.J. is a Biology major with a 3.7 GPA and an Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society member. He is also the recipient of the Presidential Scholarship at Ramapo College.
On campus, Andrew is involved in various clubs, such as Biology Club, College Programming Board, and the Peer Facilitation Program. He is also engaged in off-campus organizations, like the Wyckoff Ambulance Corps, and has served as an EMT for almost a year.
After graduation, Andrew plans to work in a laboratory and conduct research.

Michael Rogers of Secaucus, N.J. is a sophomore Information Technology Major. Michael has been involved in off-campus volunteer activities and organizations, including Bible education work with Jehovah’s Witnesses and serves as a lifeguard in his community. Post-graduation, he hopes to use his degree to continue giving back to the community.
