Eileen Comerford ‘80 Ethical Change Agent Scholarship

Eileen Comerford ’80 earned a B.S. in Economics and business administration. She is currently a Regional Coordinator for the NJ Office of the Long-Term Care Ombudsman, having served as a volunteer advocate for 11 years. She is also retired Director of Municipal Investments at Gallatin & Company, LLC. Previously, she worked for J. & W. Seligman & Company, Inc. managing municipal bond funds. Eileen joined the Foundation Board of Governors in 2014; she serves as treasurer of the board and is Chair of the Finance Committee. She is also a member of the audit, investment, and performing arts series committees. Eileen is a member of the ASB alumni advisory board and the Roadrunner Financial Group advisory board. She served on the Learning Commons capital campaign cabinet and made a major gift to that campaign. Eileen was honored at the 2021 Distinguished Citizen’s event.

Eileen has had the opportunity to engage with students as a mentor and, in her role as a member of the Foundation executive board, has attended various events including the annual scholarship reception. She has seen firsthand the impact a scholarship can have on a student’s education. She created this scholarship to benefit a student of any major who strives to be “an ethical change agent.”

Oliver Mejia

Oliver Mejia of Bergenfield, N.J. is a senior Economics major with an Accounting minor. He has a 3.85 GPA.

At Ramapo, he has been active in several organizations including serving as the President and Founder of the Ramapo Management Consulting Group (RMCG), the Vice President of the Student Government Association (SGA), and as a member of the Anisfield School of Business (ASB) Dean’s Advisory Council. As President and Founder of RMCG, Oliver leads one of the top business organizations on campus that provides pro-bono consulting to real businesses in the N.J. community. As Vice President of SGA, he co-leads and represents the student body while leading the Club Process Committee on campus. Lastly, as part of the Dean’s Advisory Council, Oliver, alongside other students, meets with the Dean regularly to discuss pressing issues at the college.

Oliver has also been involved in off-campus organizations including being a Consulting Intern at KPMG in New York and as a Sophomore Intern at PwC in New York. During this time, he completed two 8-10 week internships to strengthen his business acumen and learn more about impacting businesses.

During his final semester at Ramapo, Oliver wants to continue to lead SGA in maintaining a transparent student government and help facilitate more impactful projects for local businesses. After college, Oliver plans to work as a strategy consultant in NYC.
