Melanie Robertson

Melanie Robertson of Cedarville, N.J. is a senior Law and Society major with a minor in Crime and Justice Studies. She has a 3.78 GPA and has been recognized on the Dean’s List throughout her academic career. As a first-generation college student, Melanie is proud to be graduating with her bachelor’s degree in just three years, rather than four.

At Ramapo, Melanie has founded and presided over the Law School Prep Club and was the editor-in-chief of the Ramapo Journal of Law and Society. She also served as a Resident Assistant for two years, winning the Overlook Staff Member of the Year award for the 2022-23 academic year. Additionally, Melanie was an involved member of the E-Board for the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship.

Melanie gained valuable off-campus experience through an internship at Robinson & Robinson, LLC, a law firm in Millville, NJ. Here, she served as a legal assistant, which led to her to be offered a paid position for her gap year.

Following graduation, Melanie will take a gap year to further gain hands-on skills while applying to law schools. Her goal is to begin law school in Fall 2025 and ultimately become an attorney specializing in Elder Law.

Hannah Scroggins

Hannah Scroggins of Montville, N.J. is a sophomore Law and Society Major with a 4.0 GPA and is a Presidential Scholar recipient who has made Dean’s list several times.

At Ramapo, Hannah is the Founder and Co-President of the RCNJ Cosmetics Club. Hannah is also a Delegate for the Student Government Association and was recently nominated to serve as Ramapo’s Delegate at the 73rd Annual Student Conference on United States Affairs (SCUSA ’73) at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York.

Off-campus, Hannah has been a proud Retail Sales Associate at Flynn O’Hara Uniforms for four summers. She embraces her natural leadership qualities as she manages sales for approximately 85 private, public, and vocational schools in New Jersey, trains and evaluates new summer hires and ensures the satisfaction of 200+ customers in hospitable service to others.

After graduating from Ramapo, Hannah plans on attending law school and continuing to refine her legal specialty.

Ashley Gomez

Ashley Gomez is a junior Law and Society major with a Human Rights and Genocide minor. She is a proud first generation college student with a 3.73 GPA and has made the Dean’s List several times. 

Ashley has been a Resident Assistant since her sophomore year and is a second year returning Peer Facilitator. Additionally, she is a member of Black Student Union and is the School of SSHS School Senator for the Student Government Association. She is also the Recruitment Chair for Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. 

After graduating from Ramapo, Ashley hopes to attend law school and eventually become an immigration attorney.

Kristen Ehrenberg

Kristen Ehrenberg of Mahwah, N.J. is a Law and Society major who hopes to become an attorney practicing family law. She has a 3.87 GPA and has been on the Dean’s List ever since she transferred from Rutgers New Brunswick her sophomore year. 

Kristen has been a member of the Mahwah EMS since 2016 and currently serves as a Lieutenant, handling scheduling for the corp. Additionally, she holds a part-time job as an EMT for Paramus EMS.

Taylor Puluse

“I dream of owning and running my own law firm one day,” says Taylor Puluse. Taylor is double majoring in Law and Society and History. She currently works part-time as a legal assistant at Damiano Law Offices and will be attending law school this fall. In the future, she intends on practicing family law and specializing in domestic violence litigation. 

Taylor is the Editor-in-Chief for the Ramapo Journal of Law and Society, and she is a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. She has a 3.9 GPA and has made the Dean’s List every year. She has also received honors from Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society, Golden Key International Honor Society and National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

Taylor is a resident of Totowa, N.J.

Sarah Martinho

Sarah Martinho of Hazlet, N.J. is a Law and Society major and Anthropology minor. She has a 3.9 GPA and plans to attend law school, and hopes to practice family law. “I take extreme pride in my work, and am dedicated to both academics and serving my community.”

As a sister of Tri Sigma, Sarah has held two officer positions, CPH Delegate and Education Director. In Phi Alpha Delta, Sarah has had the honor as serving as the Scholarship Chair. For the Center for Student Involvement, Sarah has held the position of Roadrunner Central Attendant and Platinum Coordinator.

She is an employee of Costco, a captain of a Relay for Life team, and has interned for the Tamara for NJ Congressional Campaign.

Sarah Martinho

Sarah Martinho of Hazlet, N.J. is a Law and Society major. She has a 3.9 GPA and plans to attend law school, in hopes of becoming a lawyer practicing family law. She takes extreme pride in her work, and is very dedicated to her academics and serving the community.

At Ramapo, Sarah has been active in several organizations and activities, including Sigma Sigma Sigma, Phi Alpha Delta, and in the Center for Student Involvement. As a sister of Tri Sigma, Sarah has held two officer positions, CPH Delegate and Education Director, both of which she is extremely proud of. In Phi Alpha Delta, Sarah has had the honor of serving as the Scholarship Chair. In the Center for Student Involvement, Sarah has held the position of Roadrunner Central Attendant and Platinum Coordinator. Sarah has also been involved in off-campus activities and organizations, including as an employee of Costco and as a captain of a Relay for Life team.

Candace Beboe

“I am proud of the growth that I have undergone during my time at Ramapo and hope to have a career as an attorney and help fund the education of students like myself in the future,” said Candace Beboe of Jersey City, NJ.  She’s active in the Student Government Association, Intervarsity Christian Fellowship and Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority on campus. “In the positions I’ve held with these groups I’ve become a better leader and friend to my peers,” she added.

Candace has also been involved in off-campus organizations, including New City Kids, actively participating through their alumni base.

She has a 3.82 GPA and has been on the Dean’s list since her freshman year.

Anaiis Gonzalez

Anaiis Gonzalez of Linden, NJ is a Law and Society major with a 3.6 GPA.  She is active on campus as an admissions ambassador (RASA) for non-traditional students, a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and has made Dean’s List consistently.

Off campus she has worked and volunteered at The Nurturing Place, a child development center serving homeless and economically disadvantaged women.

Pursuing a career in the legal field has been her greatest aspiration.  As part of a moot court simulation, Anaiis realized that standing in front of a panel of nine judges gave her a rush. ”It felt so natural to present my case. It was an ‘aha moment.’ I was finally training myself to be the excellent lawyer my mother said I would become at thirteen.”  She also says “In all honesty all my accomplishments have come with no ease at all. I have had to fight and work hard through it all but that’s the reward at the end. I am now blessed with confidence, determination, ambition, and resilience.”

Elida Alfaro

Elida Alfaro of Centereach, N.Y. is a law and society major with minors in Spanish language studies and criminology. She has a 3.87 grade point average. Elida was inducted into the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society.

At Ramapo, Elida has been active in several organizations and activities, including Relay for Life, College Programming Board and Ramapo Journal of Law and Society. She served as president of the College Programming Board.

Elida has also been involved in off –campus activities and organizations, including interning with the Family Drug Court of Sussex and Morris Counties.

Kristi Wendel

Kristi Wendel of Franklin Lakes, NJ is a Law & Society major and a Psychology minor. Kristi is the editor of the Ramapo College Journal of Law & Society, serves on the Judicial Review Board and was inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She completed an internship with the Bergen County Police Department. Fascinated by television shows such as Law & Order: SVU, Kristi has known since high school that she wanted to become a forensic psychologist. To complete the requirements of her major, she is writing a thesis on the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act, which she intends to publish. Kristi has applied to graduate school and would like to pursue a career in federal law enforcement. She has a 3.59 grade point average.

This scholarship has given me the drive to further my education upon the completion of my journey here at Ramapo. I will always remember this scholarship as a reminder to never give up and to always strive for excellence.

This scholarship has given me the push to better myself and establish an academic reputation in the legal field.

Jolie Bonnette

Jolie Bonnette of Erial, NJ is a Psychology major and a Substance Abuse minor with a 3.81 grade point average. Originally thinking of becoming a substance abuse counselor, Jolie now plans to earn a master’s in Information Systems Audit and Control. Jolie is a NJ STARS scholar and graduated from Camden Community College. At Ramapo, she is employed as a residence life community assistant and a summer conference assistant. Jolie is a member of the Rho Alpha Sigma Honor Society and the Golden Key International Honour Society. She volunteers for the National MS Society.

The Anne Glickman Memorial Scholarship has encouraged me to find additional ways to finance future schooling. It showed me that it is possible.

Keryn Lemp

Keryn Lemp of Bayport, NY is a Law & Society major. She decided on the major as a steppingstone to law school. Keryn is an E-Board member of the College’s Honors Program and is a student aide in the Office of Residence Life. She is an accomplished violinist who has accompanied the Ramapo Chorale, and performed in the orchestra pit for Ramapo and stage productions. Keryn, who has a 3.80 grade point average says, “I am positively sure that I will be doing something with my life that involves helping those who cannot provide justice for themselves.”

I would like to thank the committee for selecting me. I will use this scholarship to further my education in the field of law. Anne Glickman was an individual who did not let time pass her by, but rather used it to become a female leader with ambition to achieve all she wanted and more. Thank you for this generous honor, and I hope that I, too, will be able to follow in her footsteps.

Roseanne Sessa

“My biggest accomplishment thus far is my growth as a person,” says Roseanne Sessa. Roseanne has been an intern in the office of Assemblywoman Connie Wagner, her high school guidance counselor and a volunteer at the Bergen County Police Department. She works at the nursery in World Gym in her hometown of Paramus. Drawing on these experiences has led Roseanne to plan to attend law school, with a concentration in medical law. She is a sophomore majoring in Law and Society who has earned a 3.96 grade point average. Her minor is Psychology.
