Arin Shatkin

Arin Shatkin of Spring Valley, N.Y. is an adult returning student and is a psychology major with a focus in pre-medical studies. He has a 3.82 GPA and is on the Dean’s List.

Arin has been involved with his hometown EMS agency, Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps, Rockland Paramedic Services, and Englewood Hospital Emergency Medical Services. At Englewood Hospital EMS and Rockland Paramedic Services, Arin works as a Paramedic on nights and weekends. In addition, Arin volunteers as a Lieutenant for Spring Hill and is the agency Training Officer, overseeing the EMS instruction for over 200 members and accomplishing Top Responder for multiple years. Arin has also held other administrative roles like committee chairs and corresponding secretary. 

Arin says, “The COVID-19 pandemic inspired me to return to school and further my education and ability to help people. I want to go to medical school and complete a residency in emergency medicine. I hope to acquire a fellowship specialty in Emergency Medical Services with the hopes of expanding and improving pre-hospital emergency medicine.”

Ronia Mohamed

Ronia Mohamed of Wanaque, N.J. is a Marketing major with a minor in Business Analytics. She has a 4.0 GPA and has been on the Dean’s List every semester since transferring to Ramapo.

Ronia acts as the social media coordinator for Ramapo’s Sustainability Committee, where she helps raise awareness for a variety of sustainability-related events and initiatives on campus. She is also active in Ramapo’s Enactus club, being a part of the teams behind Ramapo’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Week and Black History Month Entrepreneurship Discussion Panel.

She has also been involved with her local adoption shelter and public library, volunteering at each for five and two years respectively. After graduation, Ronia hopes to use her degree in the social entrepreneurship field to make a positive impact on her community.

Nazli Tiyaloglu

Nazli Tiyaloglu of Lyndhurst, N.J. is a Political Science major and a Public Policy, Economics, and Civic & Community Engagement minor. She has a 3.8 GPA and has been on the Dean’s List every semester.

At Ramapo, Nazli has been active in the Student Government Association, Pre-Law Club, Ramapo News, the Office of Financial Aid, the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, and Alpha Sigma Alpha. As the senator of the School of Humanities and Global Studies, she collaborates with Dean Susan Hangen to plan events for the school.

Nazli has also been involved in off–campus as well,  including the Black Lives Matter Movement as well as March For Our Lives. She interned at the law offices of Florio, Kenny, Raval LLP, and previously for New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez in Washington, D.C. “I strive to become a medical-malpractice lawyer and a member of Congress post graduation.”

Amy Alexander

Amy Alexander is a Social Work major with a 3.9 GPA from Clifton, N.J. Before her transfer to Ramapo, she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the Honors Program, and worked as a peer -mentor for students on her campus. Currently, she’s en-route to attain a Master of Social Work degree and ultimately gain her Licensed Clinical Social Worker certification. 

Amy has been working with adults of various intellectual disabilities for four years at two different job sites. She is also interning with Ramapo’s Pandemic Assessment Team, advocating for students within the campus.

Cassidy DeMona

Cassidy DeMona of Wyckoff, N.J. is an Elementary Education major with minors in Psychology and Literary Studies, and she plans on getting her Masters in Special Education. She has a 3.88 GPA and is a member of the College Honors Program, Kappa Delta Pi Honors Society for Educators, and Tau Sigma Transfers Honors Society.

Cassidy is a sister of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, where she serves as the Community Service Chair. She is on the executive board of the Residence Hall Council and is the Social and Service Chair for Tau Sigma.

In 2015, Cassidy founded Invisible No More Foundation, a non-profit organization to help children with life-altering illnesses. She was named one of the 22 Under 22 Most Inspiring College Women of 2018 by HerCampus. She works at a local organization serving children with special needs and is a counselor at French Woods Sports and Arts Center.

Nicole Cebulko

Nicole Cebulko of Oceanport, N.J. is a Nursing major. She is a transfer student from University of Rhode Island where she earned a 4.0 GPA and was on Dean’s List each semester. She plans to get her Masters in Neonatal Nursing.

She has quickly gotten involved at Ramapo, and been a part of Leaders in Service, RASA Student Ambassadors and 4GottenSuitcase, the A Cappella group. Off campus, she volunteered at Habitat for Humanity and MEVO as well as South County Hospital last spring. In her free time she loves yoga and hiking at nearby Ramapo Reservation.

“In my remaining time at Ramapo, I hope to become more of a leader on campus and make small impacts on people’s lives every day with random acts of kindness.”

Kaetlynn Ayala

Kaetlynn Ayala of Lodi, N.J. is a Social Work major. She has a 3.89 GPA and is a member of the Dean’s List. She has demonstrated strength and potential as an intern during her Junior year in the undergraduate Social Work Program, leading to employment at a rewarding non-profit organization.

At Ramapo, Kaetlynn has been active in several organizations, including the Social Work Club and the Phi Alpha Honor Society. Her involvement in these organizations strengthens her passion for the Social Work field. She has also been involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters as a mentor and the Lodi Volunteer Ambulance Rescue Squad where she serves as an Emergency Medical Technician, as well as President for two consecutive years.

“I have been accepted into Ramapo’s Master of Social Work Advanced Standing Program. I hope to continue gaining the knowledge and experience along with the collaboration with some of the most inspirational figures both on staff at the college and alongside me in the classroom. I plan on pursuing my this graduate degree in order to acquire the skills needed to become an effective Social Worker that will one day be considered a leader and a changemaker in the community.”

Matthew Capomaggi

Matthew Capomaggi of Wyckoff N.J. is a senior in the Adult Degree Completion Program majoring in Professional Communications. He has a 3.6 GPA.

Matthew is an active volunteer in the Wyckoff Fire Department and Ambulance Corps as well as in his local church, and is currently employed in a local car dealership.

Izabela Sadej

Izabela Sadej is a member of the Social Work Club and was inducted into the Theta Phi Alpha Fraternity where she held a “Support the Troops” sisterhood, sending a care package to troops deployed in Afghanistan.   This initiative has special significance for Izabela, as her husband is currently deployed there.

Izabela, who is from Fair Lawn, NJ, is a Social Work major with a minor in Neuroscience. She has a 3.7 GPA and was acknowledged on the Dean’s list both semesters of her freshman year.

Izabela has a job off campus as part of the sales and support team at Macy’s.

Sasha Lopez

Sasha Lopez of Weehawken, NJ is an International Studies major and Human Rights and Genocide minor.  She has a 3.4 grade point average.

At Ramapo, Sasha has been active in several organizations and activities, including Organization of Latino Unity, where she serves as treasurer, and Leaders in Service. She also serves as the Secretary and Historian for Chi Upsilon Sigma National Latin Sorority.

Sasha is an events intern with Amnesty International USA where she was exposed to human rights violations. She has also been involved with the International Rescue Committee, Ramapo College Alternative Spring Break (Arkansas), Ramapo College Alternative Winter Break (Costa Rica), Community Food Bank, Peer Leadership, and Oasis: Haven for Women and Children.

“Ramapo and its amazing faculty have helped make me more of a problem solver and critical thinker.  I have enjoyed the support faculty has given me in supporting my dreams to have a career in International Development.”

Tamar Montilus

Tamar Montilus of Hillsborough, N.J., is a nursing major. A returning adult student, Tamar believes that helping those in need leads to a satisfying life. She said education has the power to transform lives and allows her the ability to change the lives of the patients she serves. Tamar has volunteered in the hospice unit at the Veteran’s Hospital in Lyons, N.J. She also helped organize a clothing drive for children in a Haitian village.
