The Angelo Tarallo Scholarship is awarded to students interested in working in law, international business, or international studies. Recipients must demonstrate competence in writing, which was one of Professor Tarallo?s many interests.
Angelo Tarallo was a beloved professor who taught at Ramapo for more than 10 years. During a distinguished international business career at The BOC Group, Professor Tarallo held a number of positions including chief executive-legal affairs in Windlesham, UK and president and board director in Murray Hill, NJ where he also served as chairman of the Pension Committee. While at BOC, Mr. Tarallo taught at Ramapo as an adjunct professor in Business. He joined the full-time faculty in 2002 and inspired students and colleagues with his intellect and dedication to education.
In addition to teaching, Angelo Tarallo led study abroad programs in Italy and arranged for international co-operative placements for Ramapo students. After Mr. Tarallo’s death in 2003, his family, friends and colleagues established this scholarship program to recognize students who embody his commitment to academic excellence and internationalism.
Sarah Glisson of Cinnaminson, N.J. is a first-year Political Science Major and Public Policy Minor. She is a member of the College Honors Program and a Roadrunner Scholar.
At Ramapo, Sarah has been active in several organizations and activities. This includes her roles as Student Ambassador for the Andrew Goodman Foundation, Honors Panelist for the Ramapo Student Discussion Panel, and her being a member of the 2023 Leaders In Service. She is also involved with Women In Business and currently serves as a Delegate for the Student Government Association. Sarah was recognized at the 2023 Opening Convocation as an Annual Summer Reading Essay Contest Winner.
Sarah founded and presided over the Gender Equity Committee in her hometown and looks forward to bringing her passion for equality and political engagement to the Ramapo community. After college, she plans to attend law school and pursue a career in public office or healthcare administration.
Sophia Riccobono-Baran of Waldwick, N.J., is a Business Management major with a minor in Psychology with a Pre-Law concentration and has maintained a 3.7 GPA.
At Ramapo, Sophia is a member of the Student Government Association, Women in Business, and RCTV. She is Ramapo’s Alternate Student Governor and is involved in various on-campus events and fundraisers.
Off-campus, Sophia is often involved in community-based fundraisers such as marathons and food drives.
Abigail Rojas of Lodi, N.J. is a first-year Political Science major with minors in Public Policy and History. She has been awarded the Presidential Scholarship, one of the most prestigious awards at Ramapo College.
At Ramapo, Abigail has been active in several organizations and activities, as a Senator-at-Large for the Student Government Association, Ramapo Admissions Student Ambassador, Ramapo News Copy Editor and Writer, and Ramapo’s Concert Band and Pep Band where she plays the clarinet. She also works at the Common Grounds as a Starbucks Barista.
Abigail has also been involved in off–campus organizations, such as the Lodi Volunteer Ambulance Rescue Squad where she serves as a First Responder since she was sixteen. She also started her very own crochet business during the pandemic and donates her profits to civil rights organizations such as the ACLU.
In 2022, Abigail was awarded the Bergen County Unsung Heroes Award for her dedication and hard work to her community and her school. Abigail will be interning for Congressman Bill Pascrell Jr. of New Jersey’s 9th district this summer. After she graduates, Abigail plans to attend law school and hopes to run for office.
Celine Panis-Pardo of Randolph, N.J., is a double major in International Studies and Law & Society. She has a 3.9 GPA, is President of both Phi Beta Delta International Honors Society and the newly developed chapter of Model UN on campus.
At Ramapo, Celine has been part of many organizations throughout her college experience: one of which being the United Asian Association, where she is currently the Internal Vice President. She is also the head photo-editor of the Ramapo News, where she has so far written and published 11 articles on entertainment and cultural issues.
After graduating, Celine hopes to get her Master’s in Social Work and later attend law school, working within non-profit organizations to maximize human rights efforts, particularly within the field of child advocacy and immigration.

Nazli Tiyaloglu of Lyndhurst, N.J. is a Political Science major and a Public Policy, Civic & Community Engagement minor. She has a 3.8 GPA and has been on the Dean’s List every semester.
She has been a resident assistant, Student Governor, Democracy Matters President, Andrew Goodman Foundation Ambassador, Ramapo News Political Columnist, Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity Vice President,
Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority President, and more.
She has also been involved in off–campus activities and organizations, including the Black Lives Matter Movement and March For Our Lives. She formerly interned for New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez, Congressman Josh Gottheimer, and Governor Phil Murphy. “I hope to become a medical-malpractice lawyer and a member of Congress post-graduation.
Anjali Patel of Woodbridge, N.J. is a junior Law and Society major with a minor in Political Science. She has a 3.96 GPA and has made the Dean’s List every semester. She is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, and the Honors Program.
At Ramapo, Anjali is involved in the Democracy Matters Club and is currently President of the Student Government Association. “I am proud to be advocating and representing the interests of the student body,” she says.
Anjali is also an Editor for the Ramapo College Journal of Law and Society and a member of the New Jersey Student Government Coalition (NJSGC). After attending law school, she hopes to practice employment law and later get involved with government and politics.
Anjali Patel of Woodbridge, N.J. is a sophomore Law and Society Major with a minor in Political Science. She has a 3.93 GPA and has been on the Dean’s List every semester.
Anjali is Vice President of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and is a member of Sigma Alpha Pi National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS)
Additionally, she is an editor for the Ramapo Journal of Law and Society. She previously served as Secretary for the South Asians Club and is currently the Treasurer. Lastly, she served as a Senator-at-Large for the Student Government Association (SGA) and is currently their SSHS School Senator.
“I plan to attend law school and fulfill my dream of being an employment law attorney,” says Anjali.
Allison Johnson of Waldwick, N.J. is a senior Marketing major. She has a 3.9 GPA and has continuously made Dean’s List status.
Allison is involved with Alpha Phi Omega, the professional service fraternity, and Global Roadrunners, where she draws upon her semester in Spain to help Ramapo students learn more about global opportunities. She is also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the business honor society.
After graduating, Allison hopes to pursue a career in international marketing.
Raised in Guttenberg, N.J., Stephanie Guzman is a senior Business major with a concentration in Finance and a minor in International Business. She has a 3.7 GPA and is in the Honors Program. Last semester, she studied abroad in South Korea where she attended Korea University. She is currently the SARM (Student Activities Revenue Management) Student Manager on campus within the Center for Student Involvement.
At Ramapo, she has served as Secretary for the Model United Nations, is currently the Treasurer for the Association for Latinos Moving Ahead, and has served on the Admissions Team and E-Board for the Honors Program. She has also volunteered at the Hoboken Homeless Shelter, Jersey City Medical Center, MEVO, and House on the Hill.
Stephanie was a part of the Citi Bank Early ID Mentorship program and has previously worked at two law offices. She plans on pursuing law school after graduation.
Sabrina Santamaria is a senior Political Science major with minors in Public Policy and Women’s & Gender Studies. She has a 3.9 GPA and has continuously received recognition by the Dean’s List for her academic achievements. She is also a member of several Honor Societies, such as Alpha Lambda Delta, The National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and Golden Key International Honour Society (Vice President). In addition, Sabrina serves as the President of Pi Sigma Alpha: Political Science Honor Society.
Sabrina has been active in several organizations on campus, including the HGS Dean’s Advisory Council, Phi Alpha Delta: Pre-Law Fraternity, the Ramapo Journal of Law & Society (Volunteer Editor), and the Student Government Association (Senator of the HGS). This year, Sabrina is excited to be serving as the Student Government Association’s Vice President.
Sabrina recently had an internship for a Congressional Campaign where she assisted a candidate’s team in the election process. Additionally, last summer, she interned for the Honorable Judge Linda Lordi Cavanaugh in the Superior Court of Essex County. This year, she will be in the process of applying to law schools.
Arianna Cruickshank of Edgewater, N.J. is a junior pursuing an International Business degree. She is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and the Golden Key International Honour Society.
Over the summer, she was a legislative intern in D.C for Congressman Frank Pallone Jr. of New Jersey. After she graduates, she plans on going to law school to study international law.
At Ramapo, Arianna is a Resident Assistant in Mackin Hall, the advisor for Mackin Hall’s Residence Hall Council and has been a peer facilitator for two years.
Arianna currently has a 3.8 GPA and has been on the Dean’s list for two years.
Stephanie J. Guzman of Guttenberg, N.J. is a Business major with a concentration in Finance and a minor in International Business. She has a 3.9 GPA. Stephanie is an Honors student who has made Dean’s List since she was a freshman. She works on campus at the Center for Student Involvement under SARM (Student Activities Revenue Management).
At Ramapo, she has served as Secretary for Model United Nations and is a member of the Honors Admissions Team. She is currently the Vice-President for the Association for Latinos Moving Ahead and is on the E-board for the Honors Program. Stephanie has also volunteered at the Hoboken Homeless Shelter and Jersey City Medical Center, MEVO, and House on the Hill.
Stephanie was a part of the Citi Bank Early ID Mentorship program where she learned a lot about the banking industry from her mentor. She previously worked at two law offices, and plans on pursuing law school after graduation.
Angely Montilla is a Political Science and International Studies major with a minor in Human Rights and Genocide. She has received the Outstanding Student Leadership Award and has consistently been on the Dean’s List during her time at Ramapo.
At Ramapo, Angely has served as President of Golden Key Honour Society, worked as a Peer Facilitator for the LLC program, and worked on research with one of her professors. “These leadership positions have been crucial for my growth and helped me develop into a well-rounded student.”
Angely has held two judicial internships at the Essex County Superior Court-Family Division and participated in community service trips in Spanish-speaking nations. “I hope these experiences will help me as I pursue a career in International Human Rights Law.”
She has a 3.89 GPA.
Stephanie Guzman is a sophomore majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. She also has a minor in International Business.
Her involvement at the College includes serving as secretary for both the Association for Latinos Moving Ahead, and for Model United Nations. She is also a part of the Honors Executive Board and an active member of the Honors Admissions Team and International Student Organization. “My hope is to attend law school after receiving my business degree.”
Sabrina Santamaria is a junior Political Science major. She has a 3.89 GPA and has continuously received recognition by the Dean’s List for her academic achievements. She is also a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, The National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and Golden Key International Honour Society (Vice President). In addition, Sabrina serves as the President of Pi Sigma Alpha, the Political Science Honor Society.
Sabrina is active on campus in several organizations including the Student Government Association (Senator of HGS), the HGS Dean’s Advisory Council, Phi Alpha Delta: Pre-Law Fraternity, and the Ramapo Journal of Law & Society (Volunteer Editor).

“After reading about Angelo Tarallo’s life achievements and dedication to academics I was both moved and inspired. He and I share many interests including a passion for international law and writing,” said Sabrina Santamaria. Sabrina’s interest in law is reflected in her on-campus involvement as a Senator of the Student Government Association, President of the Pre-Law Fraternity and volunteer editor of the Ramapo Journal of Law & Society. She has a 3.90 GPA and has continuously received recognition for her academic achievements.
The Political Science major has also held an internship for a Congressional campaign where she assisted a candidate’s team in the election process.
Jillian Cener of East Brunswick, NJ is a Liberal Studies major with a concentration in Italian Studies and a minor in International Business. She is also a member of the Teacher Education Program at Ramapo and has a 3.987 grade point average.
Jillian has also been involved in on-campus activities and organizations, leading the Italian Club as 2013 Club President and Alpha Omicron Pi Women’s Fraternity as 2014 Chapter President.
Anthony Darakjy of Wyckoff, NJ is an Accounting major and an International Business minor. This spring, Anthony participated in the China Immersion Experience, which took him to Beijing, Shanghai and rural China. He believes the experience will help him to become a better student and businessperson. Anthony is a Student Trustee of the College’s Student Government Association, serves on ASB’s Dean’s Student Council Advisory Board, is a Student Ambassador, co-founder of Building Tomorrow and a member of the Accounting and Finance Clubs. He has completed internships at Bank of America and Aegis Insurance Services. His community service activities include the College’s Leaders in Service Program and SIFE. Anthony has a 3.96 grade point average.
John Sapida of Maywood, NJ carries two majors, International Studies and Political Science. He was inducted into the Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity and serves as the fraternity’s new interest member educator. John serves as president of Sigma Iota Rho Honors Society for International Studies and treasurer and secretary of Pi Sigma Alpha Honors Society for Political Science. He also is president of the Human Rights Society. He works on campus as a resident assistant of Laurel Hall and a student assistant in the Cahill Career Development Center. He enjoys serving as a student ambassador for the School of Humanities and Global Studies. John also enjoys performing in community theater. John plans to enroll in a graduate program for Human Rights or International Relations/International Law. He has a 3.97 grade point average.
“I was born in Los Andes, Chile and my childhood was built around an international lifestyle where I learned to speak and understand multiple languages including Spanish, Arabic and French. I came to the United States to expand my opportunities and learned English,” says Kloudya Molina. Kloudya is an International Business major in her junior year. She has held internships at the United Nations, with fashion designer Lisa Curran, and at a marketing firm, HarrisonRand. She created her own fashion and design business, Kloudya.com. She is an assistant tennis coach for the Passaic Valley boys team, and gives private tennis lessons in the summers. At Ramapo, Kloudya is a member of the International Business Club, the Finance Club, and a number of honor societies. “I want to take my knowledge and apply it to the business world, helping other businesses,” she says.
Leidy Duque of Hackensack, NJ is an International Business major. A native of Colombia, Leidy is excited about the possibility that the United States will open a free trade agreement with South America. “My objective is to own a business or be part of one that will facilitate international free trade between the United States and South America.” She is confident that her college education, South American roots and ability to speak and write both English and Spanish will provide her with an advantage. Leidy, who has a 3.71 grade point average, is grateful to her family in Colombia for their love and support.

She’s completed internships at Pearson Education, Alternative Assets Investment Management and The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria. In addition, she serves as treasurer of the Math and Finance clubs, secretary of the International Business Club and handes public relations for the Model United Nations Club. She also competed in the NewYork Mercantile Exchange Open Outcry and served on the Anisfield School of Business Student Advisory Board. Delina, who is enrolled in the College Honors Program, has a 3.97 grade point average. At Ramapo, she says, “I found a path that will utilize my inquisitive nature and will satiate my curiosity and drive for knowledge.” She plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Economics.
Bulgarian native Mihail Velikov is a junior at Ramapo and has earned an outstanding 4.00 grade point average. He is majoring in business administration with a concentration in finance. Mihail is president of the Math Club and is a member of the ASB Student Advisory Board. He also is the student representative to the Investment Committee of the Ramapo College Foundation Board. He is a member of the soccer team and works on campus in the Bill Bradley Recreation Center.

I will use the scholarship I have received to take extra classes at Ramapo, which I believe will help me get accepted into a good master’s of Economics or International Business Program.
Veselina Stoyanova. “I became extremely motivated in understanding the dynamics of the business environment.” Veselina is a senior at Ramapo majoring in international business. Her minor is French, and she has earned a 3.97 grade point average. Veselina has spent her summers working at the Ministry of Economy and Energy, Raiffeisen Bank, the Bulgarian United Bank, and with a grain distributor, all in Bulgaria. At Ramapo, Veselina is a member of the Model United Nations Club and the International Business Club, where she serves as president. She plans to continue her education in international business and marketing.
Shaima Khinjani graduated from Ramapo in December, 2010 with a degree in International Studies. Her cumulative grade point average was 3.40. During the fall semester she delivered a paper with Professor Rebecca Root at a political science conference in Boston on the role of women and elections in Afghanistan. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Political Science at the University of Montana and is teaching courses in Afghan language and culture.
