Maddi Endowed Scholarship

The Maddi Endowed Scholarship was established by Don Maddi, a member of the Ramapo College Foundation Board of Governors.  Mr. Maddi is retired from C.R. Bard, a provider of medical products and services, where he served as vice president for Compensation and Benefits.  The purpose of the Maddi Award is to recognize deserving students in the Anisfield School of Business.

2023 Recipients

Ronia Mohamed

Ronia Mohamed of Wanaque, N.J. is a Marketing major with a minor in Business Analytics. She has a 4.0 GPA and has been on the Dean’s List every semester since transferring to Ramapo.

At Ramapo, Ronia is an active member of Ramapo’s Enactus club, assisting with campus events such as Women’s Entrepreneurship Week and the Black History Month Entrepreneurship Discussion Panel. She has also represented Ramapo’s Business Analytics program at Manhattan College’s 2022 Business Analytics Competition & Conference and hopes to continue helping Ramapo’s analytics program grow.

 She has also been involved with her local adoption shelter and public library, volunteering at each for five and two years respectively. After graduation, Ronia hopes to use her degree to continue getting involved with local nonprofits and helping them flourish.


Suvaani Ranasinghe

Suvaani Ranasinghe of Sparta, N.J. is a Marketing major and Music minor. She has a 3.08 GPA and is planning on enrolling in the 4+1 Marketing Flex MBA Program.

At Ramapo, she is a part of the Fashion Club and works on campus at the Starbucks in the Common Grounds. As a sophomore, she hopes to get more involved on campus and explore new opportunities in her years here.

Suvaani is a 1st generation American and is excited to earn a Master’s degree in 2026. She has also had another job for 2 years in a cafe in her hometown and is a shift leader there. Suvaani also has a deep passion for music and hopes to get a marketing position at a music company in the future.

Courtney Napolitano

“I intend to advance my education at Ramapo College by pursuing a master’s degree in accounting and becoming a CPA,” says Courtney Napolitano of Wyckoff, N.J. She has a 4.0 GPA and has achieved Dean’s List every semester at Ramapo.

At Ramapo, Courtney has been active in the Alpha Lambda Delta and Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Societies and intramural Zumba. She has also helped commuter students transition onto campus with her role as a Commuter Student Mentor. Additionally, Courtney has participated in an independent study with Provost Becker regarding the analysis of extreme weather.

Courtney has also been involved in off-campus activities, including learning new yoga postures at Kundalini yoga.


Caitlyn Napolitano

Caitlyn Napolitano of Wyckoff, N.J. is an 4+1 accounting MSAC major. She has a 4.0 GPA. She has achieved Dean’s List for every semester at Ramapo.

At Ramapo, Caitlyn has been active in the Alpha Lambda Delta and Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Societies, as well as intramural Zumba. She also was a Commuter Student Mentor where she assisted incoming freshman commuter students and made them feel comfortable navigating Ramapo. In addition, Caitlyn participated in an independent study with Provost Becker where she analyzed extreme weather patterns.

Caitlyn has also been involved in off-campus activities, including Kundalini yoga where she performs a variety of yoga poses. She hopes to pursue a master’s degree in accounting at Ramapo College and become a CPA.



2021 Recipients

Eric Sorger

Eric Sorger of Millstone Township, N.J. is a Finance major with a Math minor. He has a 3.96 GPA and is a Presidential Scholarship recipient.  Eric is a member of numerous honor societies and the Secretary of Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society.

Eric is involved in the KPMG Mentorship Program, Sophomores Advancing in Leadership, and Leaders in Service, where he acted as a Peer Mentor. He is also on the Dean’s Student Advisory Board and is President and Treasurer of Phi Kappa Sigma, an all-male collegiate fraternity.

Eric recently achieved his dream Retirement Actuarial Internship at Willis Towers Watson, a leading global advisory, risk management, and solutions company. He previously worked as a Budget Analyst Intern in Ramapo’s Budget Office, and he currently works for Commvault as a Financial Planning and Analysis Intern. After graduation, Eric hopes pursue his dream as a full-time actuary.


Tushar Mittal

Tushar Mittal of Jhapa, Nepal is a junior double majoring in Accounting and Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. He has a 3.98 GPA and has been on the Dean’s List every semester.

Tushar is involved with the International Student Organization (ISO), Math Club, and the Changebuilders Initiative. He currently serves as the Treasurer for both ISO and the Math Club.

Tushar was a member of Sophomore Advancing in Leadership and is a recipient of the Outstanding Leadership by a Sophomore Award. He is currently employed as a Student Coordinator for the Civic and Community Engagement Center.



2020 Recipients

Richard Klas

Richard Klas of Midland Park, N.J. is a Finance Major in the Honors Program. In addition to being a Provost Scholarship Recipient, Richard’s 3.96 GPA has earned him Dean’s List status every semester and entry into the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society.

He serves as treasurer for Ramapo College Young Life and is a volunteer leader off-campus for Young Life’s middle school group. He is also active in his church and spent the past two summers working at Atlantic Stewardship Bank.

After graduation, Richard is interested in attending law school to pursue a career in corporate law.


Tejas Keshari Baidya

Tejas Keshari Baidya is an international student from Kathmandu, Nepal double majoring in Information Technology Management and Finance. He is a Presidential Scholarship recipient and his 3.95 GPA has earned him a spot on the Dean’s List every semester.

Tejas has been active in the International Student Organization, SAIL and Enactus, where he currently is serving as a project leader for facilitating school curriculum books to the students of Ramapo.  He is also an ASB Research Intern, where he is working with faculty on a literature review about the effectiveness of Online Education.

Tejas is employed as a Student Aide at the Student Activities Revenue Management division at the Center for Student Involvement. “After graduation, I plan to apply for the CFA exams and achieve my dream of working as a financial planner,” he says.



2019 Recipients

Arianna Cruickshank

Arianna Cruickshank of Edgewater, N.J. is a junior pursuing an International Business degree. She is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and the Golden Key International Honour Society.

Over the summer, she was a legislative intern in D.C for Congressman Frank Pallone Jr. of New Jersey. After she graduates, she plans on going to law school to study international law.

At Ramapo, Arianna is a Resident Assistant in Mackin Hall, the advisor for Mackin Hall’s Residence Hall Council and has been a peer facilitator for two years.

Arianna currently has a 3.8 GPA and has been on the Dean’s list for two years.


Negin Kholdi

Negin Kholdi of Paramus, N.J. is an Accounting major with a 3.84 GPA. Negin is Presidential Scholarship recipient, as well as a member of the Honors Program. She was recently accepted into the Master’s in Accounting program at Ramapo, and aims to obtain her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in four years.

Negin is a member of Beta Alpha Psi, former Treasurer of Alpha Lambda Delta, a Leader in Service, and the current Vice President of the Culture Club. She has volunteered as a graphic designer for the Paramus Environmental Commission, and currently volunteers her time as an accounting tutor through Beta Alpha Psi.

Negin is most proud of obtaining an audit internship with Ernst & Young for the summer of 2019. She hopes to broaden her knowledge through her work, and continue to prioritize education in the years to come.


Hannah Levin

Hannah Levin is a transfer student from County College of Morris, where she had a 3.9 GPA and was accepted into the foreign language, and two-year college honors societies. She is majoring in International Business.

At Ramapo, Hannah hopes to intern with local and foreign companies, study abroad, and seek out work study opportunities.  “I’m looking past College to my long term career and I’m eager to get started.”

Hannah has been involved in many activities, including taking and teaching Jiu Jitsu classes, organizing Vacation Bible School at her local church, taking a Junior Lifeguard class in her community, and working multiple jobs.  Her current work includes customer service at two different local restaurants, as a server and support staff as well as a delivery driver.  She also babysits and pet-sits for local families. She is from Sparta, N.J.

Anupama Upadhyay

Anupama Upadhyay is an international student from Kathmandu, Nepal. She is majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance, and has a minor in Economics. She has a 3.96 GPA and was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society and Order of Omega Greek Honor Society.  She has also been on the Dean’s list since her first semester at Ramapo.

At Ramapo, she has been active in several organizations and activities, including Theta Nu Xi, the Yoga Club and SHRM. As a part of Theta Nu Xi, she plans and organizes events that aim to make a positive impact on campus through scholarship promotion, leadership, service, sisterhood and multiculturalism.

She works on campus at the Center for Student Involvement and was the internal audit intern at the Office of the President at Ramapo. She has also held two co-op internship positions at Turner Construction Company and Cases By Source.


Victor Georgiev

Victor Georgiev of Varna, Bulgaria is an Information Technology Management major. He has a 4.0 GPA and has been on the Dean’s List since his first semester at Ramapo.

Victor serves as Vice-President of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and has been active in the International Student Organization, as well as the CCEC Teaneck Tutoring program.

He has spent his summers gaining experience at C3i Europe and Sutherland Global Services, providing outsourced technical and customer support in German, English, and Bulgarian. He plans to continue his education, and pursue a Master’s Degree in Information Technology.



2017 Recipients

Alexia Mavros

Alexia Mavros of Bayonne, NJ is a Business Administration major with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Information Technology Management.

At Ramapo, Alexia has been active in several organizations and activities, including Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society.  Alexia volunteers at Liberty Science Center, providing service to guests and promoting science education to young children.  She also volunteers her time at Evangelismos tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, assisting with community events and fundraisers.

Alexia worked as a Finance Intern at Liberty Science Center during summer 2015. In September 2015, she was offered a position as Budget Analyst Intern at the Ramapo Budget Office and was recently promoted to Budget and Systems Analyst Intern. In the future, Alexia hopes to become a CFA.


Theresa Murray

Theresa Murray of Roseland, NJ is a sophomore Accounting major. She has a 3.88 GPA. She is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Alpha Lambda Delta national honor societies. She made the Dean’s List for fall 2015 and spring 2016.

Theresa is currently an intern at Meglio & Associates, LLC in Caldwell, NJ. She plans on getting her CPA certification and hopes to become a forensic accountant.

Kevin (Han Seul) Yoo

Kevin (Han Seul) Yoo of Mahwah, NJ is a Business major with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in International Business. He has a 3.93 GPA. Kevin was inducted into and Beta Gamma Sigma and Order of Omega.

At Ramapo, Kevin has held multiple leadership positions. He is a second year Peer Facilitator, VP of membership for Alpha Kappa Psi (Professional Business Fraternity), and VP of External Affairs for the Professional Fraternity Council.

He works as a Peer Advisor in the Center for Student Success, and interns at The DSM Group, a full-service marketing agency.

Kevin is passionate about his role as an orientation leader.  “I am promoting the school so when it comes to deciding where to attend, Ramapo is at the top of the list. Working 6am to 6pm over the summer as an orientation leader or giving back to back hour long tours on the weekends never felt like work because I was sharing information about a “product” that I was passionate about.”

2014 Recipients

Tara Tyrell

Tara Tyrell is a Business Administration/Finance major. “With this degree I could practice my skills in math on a different level and possibly pursue a career working with finance in another area in which I have great interest – Broadway,” she said. Tara has acted in school plays since sixth grade, and often attends Broadway shows with her family and Ramapo groups. “My ultimate career aspiration is to work in the financing of Broadway shows,” she said. Tara is from West Caldwell, NJ and has earned a 3.51 grade point average.

Brittany DalCais

After a two years at SUNY Oswego, Brittany DalCais is in her junior year at Ramapo, majoring in Economics. She is a member of the track and field team as a pole vaulter. “Ramapo has a nationally ranked vaulting coach, and I knew that attending Ramapo would positively and tremendously impact my jumping,” Brittany said. “Also, Ramapo’s business school is of a high caliber.” Brittany is from Hewitt, NJ and has earned a 3.92 grade point average.

Kevin Cottino

Since freshman year, Kevin Cottino was involved in the Student Government Association (SGA), serving as the Senate President as well as the Student Body President. He started a program called Chatty Caddy. “With Chatty Caddy, members of SGA drive throughout campus in golf carts offering students a ride to class in exchange for input about life at Ramapo and ask about any issues they would like to see addressed,” said Kevin. Now a senior, Kevin is majoring in Business Administration/Marketing, with a minor in International Business. He has earned a 3.44 grade point average and has completed volunteer
work. He is also president of the Inter-Fraternity Council. Kevin has worked as an intern at Thomson
Reuters and blk. Beverages. “My current internship at Jaguar Land Rover North America has been a tremendous learning experience and I have gained many valuable networks for my dream to work in the automotive industry,” Kevin said.

Brooke Miller

Brooke Miller is a freshman majoring in Social Work. She is from Bayonne, NJ and graduated from McNair Academic High School in Jersey City, NJ. An avid soccer player, Brooke is proud to have been named to First Team, All County and Third Team, All State. She served as captain and credits the experience with providing her with communication and leadership skills. Brooke also played soccer for a travel club. As a member of the National Honor Society, Brook traveled to Japan to help victims of the tsunami. She volunteered for Project Ease, an after-school program for special needs children and for Green Teen Arts Festival, a program in which teens from the community sell their artwork or perform to raise money to plant trees. Brook says, “As a National Honor Society member, I became motivated in all of my tasks and strived for success.” Brooke has a 3.75 grade point average.


2013 Recipient

Michael Fleischmann

Michael Fleischmann of New City, NY is a Business Administration major with a concentration in Management. He is a member of the Dean’s Student Advisory Council, the Society for Human Resource Management, the Judicial Review Board, the Commuter Caucus and Transfer and Commuter Connections. He is also a senator-at-large and secretary of Commuter Affairs. Michael responds to the unique needs of those who have had difficulties in their lives. He was a management aide intern at an assisted living facility and participated in their Telephone Reassurance Program. He also interned at an organization where he led and superved workshops for those who had been imprisoned and their families. He also worked at a food pantry helping to prepare and deliver food. He has 3.40 grade point average.

Katelin Thompson

Katelin Thompson is a freshman from Hillsdale, NJ majoring in Business Management. She has varied interests and seeks positive relationships in her life, which will help her in managing projects, bring new ideas to business and provide better work environments. Katelin is interested in the human resources field or becoming an entrepreneur and starting her own business.

The Don Maddi Scholarship has helped me to be more confident in my work and has encouraged me to reach my full potential academically.

Justin Surgent

Justin Surgent is a sophomore from Franklin Lakes, NJ majoring in Economics, but will move to a major in Finance. He is a member of the Math Club, the Finance Club, the Accounting Club and Students for Free Enterprise. Justin has a strong interest in politics and plays the alto saxophone. He plans a career as a financial analyst for a large multinational corporation.

Christopher Auteri

Christopher Auteri of Franklin Lakes, NJ is an Information Systems major with a concentration in Web Development and a Computer Science minor. He is president of the Computer and Technology Club, a member of the Video Game Club and was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma and the New Jersey Collegiate Business Administration honor societies. He was a coleader of Computer Science Honors Research at the College. Christopher worked as a database architect for UPS, an IT business analyst at another company and an assistant virtual reality programmer at the College. Of his education at Ramapo Christopher says, “With my education comes professors who not only challenge me, but also can attest to my capabilities, transcripts and show employers what I have learned thus far and skills that are relevant to the IT industry.” He has a 3.9 grade point average.


2010 Recipient

Anthony Siciliano

Anthony Siciliano of Ramsey, NJ is a Marketing major focusing on entrepreneurship and business start-ups. He plans to use the knowledge he gains to build his own business. Anthony and two partners created an independent film company, Awesome Farm Productions. His feature-length horror film, “Only GoThere At Night: Darkness Rising,” was screened at the College in December. Anthony is a member of the Marketing and Philosophy Clubs, WRPR Radio and Ramapo Newspaper. Anthony, who has a 3.74 grade point average, will not settle for mediocrity. “I am on a crusade against it,” he says.



2009 Recipient

Stoyan Stoyanova

Last year Stoyan Stoyanova worked with fellow students to establish the International Business Club, where he currently serves as vice president. He is also a member of the Model United National Club, the International Students Organization, and the Finance Club. Stoyan is from Bulgaria and is majoring in international business. He is a junior and has earned a 3.96 grade point average. Stoyan has completed several internships abroad, in the Bulgarian Ministry of Economy and Energy and the Raiffeisen Bank. “The global business environment is extremely competitive and I believe that a Ph.D. in international business management will enhance both my knowledge and my ability to succeed,” he says.

When a person is recognized for what he does, it really motivates him to go on.
