Summer Housing

On-campus summer housing is available to all currently enrolled Ramapo students who wish to live on campus. Students will reside in the College Park Apartments. Residents will have close access to their peers who reside on campus, various college services, Public Safety Office that operates 24 hours / 7 days a week, and more!

Summer 2024 Interim Housing  

Summer Interim Housing Request

  • If you are a campus resident who currently resides in housing and have no other housing option during the timeframe in which the residence halls close for the Spring 2024 semester and reopen for the first Summer School Session that begins on May 29, 2024, you may request to reside in Interim housing from May 16, 2024 and May 28, 2024.  You (along with ALL of your belongings) will need to relocate to Interim Housing in the College Park Apartments on May 16, 2024 at 2:00pm.
  • The charge to reside in Summer Interim Housing is $ 479.70.  This charge will be assessed whether you stay for one day or the entire session.
  • You will be required to check-out of your Spring 2024 housing assignment on May 16, 2024 by 2:00pm. Move-over and check-in to your Interim Housing Assignment must occur on May 16, 2024 between 2:00pm and 4:00pm. If you need to check-out of Interim Housing prior to May 29, 2024 due to a flight departure, you must notify the Office of Residence Life via email at reslife@ramapo.edu;  This request must be submitted by April 15, 2024.

Eligibility

Summer Housing is available to enrolled Ramapo College students who meet any of the following criteria:

  • Registered for summer classes
  • Ramapo College Student Employee
  • Internship
  • International Student
  • Housing Insecure (Ramapo College is the official address-Approval is required for this option)
Housing Sessions

Note: The “Entire Summer with Move Over” Session is only available to students who work for the college that have a Fall 2024 housing assignment. Students registered for the “Entire Summer with Move Over” Session must check out of their summer housing assignment and “move over” into their Fall housing assignment on the date indicated.

Rather than having to take all personal belongings home after the summer session, residents who select “Entire Summer with Move Over” will move all their personal belongings from their summer assignment directly to their Fall assignment. This is NOT available to students who select any other summer housing sessions, regardless of placement.

Ramapo College Student Employee Discount
  • Students who work for Ramapo College are entitled to a 50% housing discount. To qualify for the employee discount, students must be employed by Ramapo College, work a minimum of 15 hours a week and their dates of employment must match their summer housing session.
  • The employment verification section of the application must be completed in order to receive a housing discount. Once summer housing charges are posted to the student’s account, it will take 2-3 business days for the housing discount to be reflected on their account. If the discount does not appear, students should email reslife@ramapo.edu.

To qualify for the housing discount, a student must work at least 15 hours per week during Summer Housing. Students who do not work the entire length of their Summer Housing will be responsible for the incurred housing charges.

Payment Deadline and Withdrawal Policy

Summer housing charges will be posted on or about Wednesday May 1, 2024 to the accounts of all students who submitted their application by the deadline. Payment for summer housing is due to the Office of Student Accounts in full prior to their check-in date. Failure to pay by the deadline may result in the inability to check in for housing. Students who submit their housing application after the deadline will be notified via their Ramapo email account once housing charges are posted to their account. Please contact the Office of Student Accounts for information regarding payment options.

Students must withdraw prior to the start of the housing session they registered for in order to be granted a 100% housing refund. No refunds will be issued once a student has checked in. Requests to be withdrawn from summer housing must be sent via the students Ramapo email account and must include their complete first and last name, R-Number, summer housing session and request to be withdrawn from summer housing. Requests must be emailed to housingwithdraw@ramapo.edu.

Check In/Check Out & Placement Information

Students will be placed in the College Park Apartments.  The College Park Apartments are two bedroom (4 person apartments), with a bathroom, kitchen and living room.  Specific summer housing assignments are at the discretion of the Office of Residence Life and will be communicated upon each resident’s check in.

Assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend students apply by the deadline to ensure that they are assigned housing prior to the start of the first session. In addition, once students have been billed and have checked in, those who request to switch their housing session may be relocated and assessed a $100.00 processing and cleaning fee. Therefore, students are encouraged to plan accordingly, prior to submitting their summer housing application.

Students must register with the Office of Specialized Services (OSS) by April 15, 2024 if requesting specific housing assignments due to medical related conditions. Once affiliated, OSS will inform the Office of Residence Life of all students who require specific housing accommodations based on medical documentation provided to their office. Dining Services

 

Meal plans are not available during the summer. Each College Park Apartment is equipped with a full kitchen; therefore, residents are not required to have a meal plan.

SUMMER RETAIL DINING

Students may purchase Ramapo Dollars by sending a request to ramapodollars@ramapo.edu. Requests must be sent via the students Ramapo email account and must include their R-Number and requested Ramapo Dollar amount. Requests will be processed within three business days of receipt and a confirmation notice will be emailed once processed.

Students who register for summer housing must abide by Ramapo College’s Code of Conduct as outlined in the Student Handbook and the Guide to Community Living. Students must also comply with the housing guidelines outlined in the summer housing application.
