Established in 1999, The Ramapo College of New Jersey Provisional Teacher Program (PTP) was approved by the New Jersey State Department of Education as a Regional Training Center for the expressed purpose of providing 200 hours of instruction to “alternate route” candidates who want to enter the teaching profession. The program is designed to provide the professional education component for liberal arts candidates who qualify for a “New Jersey Certificate of Eligibility”.
The 200 hours of instruction are divided into three segments, or Phases. Classes are held from 4 – 7 PM (4-8 PM for the first five sessions) at Pequannock Township High School (See Maps/Directions). Please see below for the current year’s Fees and Schedule.
Teachers need to register for the Provisional Teacher Program through the State Department of Education.
Payment for each phase of instruction is due the first night of class based on the following fee schedule:

in our service counties are required for program registration.
