PRESIDENTIAL SPEAKER SERIES: Leading Through Complexity

The Office of the President hosted a Fireside Chat on February 28, 2024 with President Jebb and Don Payerle, President of Joint Replacement at Stryker.

President Jebb and President Payerle discussed several topics ranging from how to set the conditions for innovation to the skills needed to lead change. Members of the Board of Governors and our alumni who are employed by Stryker also participated in the program.

Don Payerle was named President, Joint Replacement, at Stryker on March 1, 2020. Don joined the Joint Replacement division after a successful 28 years leading several businesses and functions within Stryker’s Medical division. Don most recently served as Vice President and General Manager, Sage & EMEA. Prior to this leadership role he was Vice President and General Manager, Patient Handling & EMS. Don has led teams, managed territories, built and grown departments and functions, directed product development, integrated acquisitions, launched products, and drove successful specialization initiatives in a variety of differentiated businesses and global markets. His unique approach in collaboration and identifying areas of substantial difference and opportunity has created a competitive advantage for the business units and divisions he’s served throughout his career.

Don holds a Bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo and has completed several professional education offerings inclusive of UCLA Anderson School of Business, Gallup Leadership Academy, and Stryker’s Harvard Leadership Academy.
