2024 Calendar (rev. April 2024)

Adjustments to the May schedule.  

  •       May 13-17:  Monday through Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
  •       May 20-24:  Monday through Friday 8:30am-4:30pm (May 22nd, Graduate Commencement, May 23rd is Arching)
  •       May 28-30: Tuesday through Thursday 8:30am-4:30pm (May 29th Undergraduate Commencement)
  •       May 31: Primarily remote operations from 8:30am-4:30pm due to a planned campus-wide electrical outage.  Selected employees as identified by managers for mission related reasons will be working in person.

Adjustments to the June schedule:

  •       June 3 – August 16: Summer Flex
  •       June 20: Offices will be closed, classes will be in session. We added this day to extend the Juneteenth observance. (We will be off Wednesday, June 19 through Friday June 21) Employees will not need to charge leave time.  Essential employees should be guided by their Supervisor and will be provided an alternative day off.

Summer Four-Day Flex Workweek 2024

The summer four-day flex workweek program will be in effect from the week of June 3, 2024 through and including the week of August 12, 2024.  The first Friday off will be June 7, 2024, the last Friday off will be August 16, 2024. The following provisions will apply for summer 2024:

  1. The daily schedule for most employees working 35 hours a week will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with one-half hour for lunch (and two fifteen-minute breaks for classified staff).
  2. Time and attendance reporting for flex work weeks (except for 40-hour workweek employees) should reflect an 8.75 hour day – Monday through Thursday.

Exceptions to these hours are:

Juneteenth:  The week of June 17, most employees will work 8:00 – 5:45 on Monday and Tuesday.  Wednesday, June 19 the College is closed in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.  The College will also be closed on Thursday, June 20 and Friday, June 21 is a flex Friday.  Keep in mind if you are absent on Monday or Tuesday the hours should be reflected as 9.25 on web-time entry.

July 4th Week:  The College will be closed on Thursday, July 4th for the holiday and Friday, July 5th will be a flex day. The work schedule for that week – Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.  Time and attendance reporting for this week (except for 40-hour workweek employees) should reflect a 9.25 hour day (Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday).    Keep in mind if you are absent on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday of this week, the hours should be reflected as 9.25 on web-time entry.

Employees should work the specified hours as noted and unit heads must ensure the integrity of time and attendance reporting.  Employees with 40-hour workweeks will not be affected by these changes.

Please note that compensatory time will not be earned on flex Fridays so adjust your schedule accordingly as necessary with consultation with your supervisor.

Essential employees should be guided by their supervisor/unit head regarding any flexible work arrangements for the summer.

2024 Thanksgiving Holiday

November 27 – College is open and does not close early

November 28 – College is closed for the Holiday

November 29 – College is closed and employees are not charging leave time (essential employees will be provided the time to take at a later date)

2024-2025 Winter Break Closing

The College will provide an OPTION to work additional hours so they do not have to charge time for the

Winter Closure: December 24, 26, 27, 30 and 31, 2024.

Optional Adjusted Schedule for Winter Break 2024 Winter Break Closing

For employees with a fixed workweek of 35 hours per week, 1 additional hour per day for 35 days from October 25-31, November 1-22, 2024, December 2 – 23, 2024.

For employees with a fixed workweek of 40 hours per week, 1 additional hour per day for 40 days from October 18-31, November 1-22, 2024, December 2-23, 2024.

If not participating in the adjusted schedule, you will either be working on December 24-31 or charging leave balance (or working those days with supervisor approval)

The Fall Holidays (Columbus, Election Day & Veteran’s Day) are always an option to offset some of these hours required for the Winter Break.
