FYS Class:

Class of: 2026

Major/Minor: Nursing

Resident/Commuter: Resident

Favorite Class: My favorite class is Foundations of Spanish I with Professor Padilla-Cruz because I think learning a new language is so important because you immerse yourself into how a different culture is like and build awareness and sensitivity to those other cultures. I genuinely have been able to pick up the Spanish I have been taught which will be really useful for me in my future endeavors working in the medical field.

Favorite Place on Campus: My favorite place on campus is the Peter P Mercer Learning Commons because it is such a beautiful place to study and you can often catch friends there to bond over the work you have to get done. I love how the study rooms overlook the mountains!

Clubs/organizations: I am Internal Vice President of United Asian Association where we participate in discussions about Asian culture. We also help promote fundraisers and school-wide events! I am also a member of Filipino-American Student Association where engage in discourse about Filipino culture. I also am a student ambassador for Ramapo Admissions Student Ambassadors where we lead group tours and assist with setting up during events hosted by the Office of Admissions such as Open Houses, Admitted Students Day, etc.

Future Plans: I want to be a pediatric nurse! :))

Favorite Inspirational Quote: “If you have a dream, don’t let anybody take it away. And always believe that the impossible is always possible.” ~ Selena Quintanilla-Perez

Advice for First-Year Students: Get on the Class of 2028 Instagram and mingle! It may seem awkward at first but trust me–everyone wants to make new friends! If you see somebody with similar interests, you see yourself being friends with–shoot them a message and see where it takes you! :) This way you can already have some people you know on Move-In Day.
Also, say yes to as many social opportunities presented to you (especially your first few weeks) !! You never know who you may meet at these outings that could become a pivotal character in your college career!
