FYS Class:
Class of: 2025
Major/Minor: Elementary Education/Special Education (4+1 MASE)
Resident/Commuter: Resident
Favorite Class: I have loved all of my education classes so far, as they all help me get closer to my dream job of being a teacher! It is also great to get to know other teacher education students! Though, the education classes that I liked the most is my EDSP 610 class as the class made a special bond, and I feel like I learned so much!
Favorite Place on Campus: My favorite place on campus would have to be the library in the study rooms because I feel like I can be so productive while having a great view of the mountains!
Clubs/organizations: I am a part of Future Teachers at Ramapo which I love! Though, I am also a member of Ramapo LEAD, Kappa Delta Pi (Teacher Education Honors society), and the college’s Honors Program!
Future Plans: Once I graduate, I hope to become a second grade teacher in my local school district and I hope to inspire my future students as my teachers did for me. Though, I will also be in my plus one MASE year to get my Masters in Special Education, which I am very excited for!
Favorite Quote: My favorite motivational quote is, “ÄúIt is often the small steps, not the giant leaps, that bring about the most lasting change‚Äù,” Äì HRM Queen Elizabeth II I like this quote because even the small steps count and can make a huge impact on your life.
Advice for First-Year Students: My biggest advice to first year students would be to truly soak in every moment. These four years of college, truly go by so fast and they really can be the best years of your life. While it definitely is important to get good grades and to do your best in the classes you are taking, also make sure to take time for you and to make fun memories with your friends. Similarly, I would also say to not be afraid to reach out for help because everyone is truly here to support you! When you ask for help, it truly helps show your strength and that is important!
