FYS Class:

Class of: 2025

Major/Minor: Major in social work with a minor in psychology

Resident/Commuter: Resident

Favorite Class: Currently, I’m really enjoying Research Methods with Professor Butler. She’s incredibly passionate about her subject and her teaching style keeps the class thoroughly engaged. I’ve gained valuable knowledge and even made some new friends thanks to the sense of community fostered within the classroom.

Favorite Place on Campus: One of my favorite places on campus would be the gym. Much like my dorm room, it offers peace and comfort amidst the chaos of the semester. In time of stress there’s nothing quite like a good workout session to destress and rejuvenate.

Clubs/organizations: I’m starting my second year as the President of Students of Caribbean Ancestry (SOCA). Additionally, I serve as a Violence Intervention Peer in the Office of Violence Prevention and hold the position of Resident Assistant for Laurel Hall.

Future Plans: Post graduation after receiving my BSW I am planning on furthering my studies getting my Master’s in Social Work and perhaps my Ph.D. afterward.

Favorite Inspirational Quote: “If your dreams do not scare you, they are not big enough.”

Advice for First-Year Students: A piece of advice I’d offer to first-year students is to keep your eyes on the prize. In college, you may experience many trials and challenges, but always remember who you are, and what you’re capable of, stay focused on your driving force behind pursuing your degree, and never lose sight of your goals.
