MAHWAH, N.J. — Ramapo College of New Jersey officially declared on Wednesday, September 16, Latin Heritage Month with a campus celebration of music and refreshments enjoyed by students, staff and faculty. A proclamation presented by Provost Beth Barnett recognized “the unique contributions of Hispanic and Latin culture” and the College’s inclusiveness and cultivation of diversity.
“Hispanic ethnicity and culture includes a mix of European, African and Native American ancestries and has had an immeasurable impact on the culture of the United States,” said Provost Barnett. “At Ramapo College, we note with pride the contributions of our students, faculty, and staff of Latin heritage. We celebrate the intellectual, cultural, and artistic achievements of these individuals and affirm our commitment to the education, employment, and inclusion of this group.”
