(Mahwah) – An information technology concentration has been added to the Master of Business Administration program at Ramapo College of New Jersey. It is designed to address the challenge by industry for a new category of information technology professional. The IT concentration will complement ongoing MBA programs in finance, management, marketing and accounting.
Globalization of trade, the emergence of information economies, and the growth of the Internet and other global communications networks have recast the role of information technology in business and management. This new IT professional will have an interdisciplinary business education and the requisite skills to manage information technology in a global Internet-based business environment.
The program is designed for students with undergraduate degrees in information systems/technology (IS/IT), business administration with an IS/IT concentration, or a related field, and having knowledge of major computing concepts.
Housed in the College’s School of Administration and Business under Director Anita L. Stellenwerf, the degree program’s 36-credit hour curriculum will be divided into three parts: the liberal arts and professional core, the professional concentrations and the program synthesis.
Ramapo’s MBA is ideal for professionals who work during the day, as all courses offered are in the evening. “Graduates will be prepared to take leadership roles in a wide variety of business, government and non-profit organizations,” says Stellenwerf.
Applications are currently being accepted for spring and fall 2001 semesters. Candidates seeking admission and a course schedule should contact Anita L. Stellenwerf, director of the MBA program at (201) 684-7080.
