(Mahwah) Gail P. Brady, president of GB Consulting Services, a utility regulatory consulting firm, has been elected to chair the Ramapo College of New Jersey Board of Trustees. She recently retired as senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer of Elizabethtown Water Company and treasurer of E’town Corp. She is also a CPA in New Jersey. A member of the Ramapo College board since 1993, she also served as vice chair of the board and chair of the Finance and Student Affairs Committees. She is a resident of Verona.
“Mrs. Brady brings a wealth of financial expertise to the chairmanship of the Board,” stated Dr. Rodney D. Smith, president of Ramapo College of Brady’s new position. He went on to say, In her several leadership positions on the Board since 1993, she has consistently held Ramapo College to the strictest level of financial accountability. I am very pleased that she has accepted this new leadership position, especially given the financial constraints of the nation, the state and the College at this time. Mrs. Brady has already implemented several innovative initiatives at the Board level that will allow greater accountability as Ramapo College continues to move forward. I am indeed looking forward to working with her and her Board Chairmanship.”
In response, Brady said, I am looking forward to an academic year where Ramapo will encourage our students to reach their full educational and social potential with the leadership of the faculty, administration, fellow students and the board of trustees. The national political and New Jersey economic climate will challenge our students to reach their potential.”
Brady is assistant treasurer of the Occupational Center of Union County. She has served as president of the Essex Chapter of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and chair of the National Association of Water Companies – New Jersey Chapter. She was selected for honorary membership by the Ramapo College Delta Nu Chapter of Delta Mu Delta. The National Association of Water Companies – New Jersey Chapter scholarship is named in her honor. Brady earned a B.A. in accounting at Upsala College and an MBA in finance from Seton Hall University.
