(MAHWAH, NJ) – On Sunday May 16, the Ramapo College Foundation will hold its First Annual Motorcycle Poker Run Rally to raise funds for Ramapo College’s student scholarships and undergraduate research programs. The Poker Run is sponsored by the generosity of our event sponsor Inserra Shop-Rite Supermarkets and our benefactors Hiden Galleries, Kosco Harley-Davidson, Liberty Subaru, Liberty Hyundai, and the Brewster Financial Group at UBS Financial Services.
The Poker Run will kick off on the Ramapo College campus, and riders will cover an 80 mile run on the beautiful scenic roads of Northern New Jersey. There are three stopping points along the way for refreshments and to pick up additional poker cards. There will also be a picnic lunch for riders, families and friends on the Bandshell Lawn on the College’s campus, which will feature live music by the DRG Band. There will also be a number of exhibits featuring motorcycle manufacturers and dealers, and clothing and accessories companies.
This event is an initiative of the Ramapo College Foundation, whose mission is to “provide the resources that make the difference in Ramapo College’s quest for educational excellence.” To accomplish this goal the Foundation raises funds for student scholarships, faculty research and development, capital projects, and other campus needs. The event’s steering committee is composed of individuals from the business, legal and education communities as well as others who enjoy the freedom of the open road. The members of the committee are Chairman Rick DeSilva, Rick DeSilva, Jr., John Brewster ‘75, Randall Brewster and Chris Turner of Mahwah, Robert Hiden of Mamaroneck, Doreen Janes of Lyndhurst, David Hackett of South Plainfield, Larry Inserra of Franklin Lakes, and Lisa Ryan of Towaco.
The Poker Run will take place on Sunday, May 16, rain or shine. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., and is $25 for riders and $15 for passengers.
