(Mahwah) – AT&T Family Week at the Theater presents Playwrighting for Children,” Saturday, March 4 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the lobby of the Berrie Center on the campus of Ramapo College of New Jersey. Admission is free; registration is required by calling the box office, 201.684.7844. This program is designed for students in grades 4 to 8.
This session explores the imagination of the budding playwright, while students learn the basic elements of the craft. Writers from the Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey will help students discover the power of the pen” when they learn how to develop characters and create dialogue. Through writing exercises and theater games, students examine the structure of a play and the importance of conflict in building scenes and storylines.
This program is made possible through the N.J. Theatre Alliance’s AT&T Family Week at the Theater.
