(Mahwah) – Cathie Ryan, hailed as one of Celtic music’s most popular and enduring singer-songwriters, will perform Saturday, February 10 at 8 p.m. at the Sharp Theater on the campus of Ramapo College of New Jersey.
A former member of the vocal group Cherish the Ladies, Ryan was named Female Vocalist of the Decade by The Irish American News. Since her seven-year tenure as lead singer of the group, the Detroit-born Ryan has established herself as one of Celtic Music’s most enduring singer-songwriters. She has released four CDs on Shanachie Records: Cathie Ryan, The Music of What Happens, Somewhere Along the Road, and her latest, The Farthest Wave. She is featured on more than forty compilations of Celtic music. In 2003 she was included in the Irish music collection, A Woman’s Heart – A Decade On, placing her among Irish music’s finest female vocalists and songwriters.
Tickets for Cathie Ryan are $24, 20 and 15 for adults, with a five percent discount for senior citizens, and $12 for children under 17. The Sharp Theater is located at the Angelica and Russ Berrie Center for Performing and Visual Arts on the Ramapo College campus. For more information call 201.684.7844.
