2007 Commerce Bank Summer Concert Series Dates are Announced

(Mahwah) – The New Jersey Pops, Jimmy & The Parrots, the 1910 Fruitgum Company and Jim Yester & The Yesterdaze will headline the 2007 Commerce Bank Summer Concert Series hosted by The Ramapo College Foundation on the college campus.  The four concerts, all on Thursdays in July, will take place at the Bandshell, beginning at 8 p.m.  The first concert, on Thursday, July 5, will end with a fireworks display.  In case of rain, the fireworks will take place on July 12.  Admission is free; parking is $5 per car.  Bring your lawn chair, a carload of family and friends, and picnic under the stars.

Thursday, July 5, 2007 – New Jersey Pops
The New Jersey Pops, featuring conductor Michael J. Buglio, will present a musical salute to Americana.  The concert concludes with a vibrant fireworks display, beginning at 9:30 p.m.

Thursday, July 12, 2007 – Jimmy & The Parrots
The group will present a Jimmy Buffet tribute.  From “Margaritaville” to “Hot Hot Hot,” Jimmy & The Parrots will have attendees singing, laughing and dancing.  (Fireworks rain date.)

Thursday, July 19, 2007 – 1910 Fruitgum Company
The 1910 Fruitgum Company will perform all their hits in addition to some of the best songs from the 60s ever to be recorded.  Their hit songs include “Simon Says,” “1-2-3 Red Light,” “Indian Giver” and more.

Thursday, July 26, 2007 – Jim Yester & The Yesterdaze
Yester, the original lead singer of The Association, will delight the audience with a tribute to this legendary group.  They’ll perform classics including “Windy,”  “Cherish,” “Never My Love” and “Along Came Mary.”
The Summer Concert Series has been held at Ramapo College since 1987.  The series has grown steadily and now attracts approximately 1,000 people per evening.  The fireworks concert is the most popular, attracting more than 2,500 patrons from the surrounding area.

All concerts begin at 8:00 p.m. at the Bandshell.  In case of rain, concerts will be held in the Bradley Center Arena.  To request disability-related accommodations, please call the Ramapo College Foundation at 201.684.7611.
