(Mahwah) – Ramapo College of New Jersey students Heather Kastberg of Toms River, a junior in the social work program, and Jonathan Wetstein of Parsippany, a junior majoring in metropolitan studies, were selected as Wachovia/First Union/DCA Housing Scholars. Students selected for the award had to go through a successful screening by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs’ Office of Housing Advocacy, and also had to be chosen by a public agency or community development corporation interested in hosting a paid summer internship. The program is open to both graduate and undergraduate students in New Jersey colleges. The internships are full-time for 10 weeks.
Following a training program in early June at New Jersey Institute of Technology, Kastberg will begin her internship with the New Brunswick Housing Authority and Wetstein will begin his with the mayor’s office in Rivervale.
Professor Mitchell Kahn is the Ramapo College liaison to the Wachovia/First Union/DCA Housing Program.
