(Mahwah) – Richard Morales-Wright has been appointed assistant provost for Academic Support Programs and Services at Ramapo College of New Jersey. In his new role, he will continue as Ramapo’s director of the Educational Opportunity Fund Program, a position he has held since January 1996, and assume the administration of Academic Advisement, the Office of Testing and Placement and the Center for Academic Success.
Prior to coming to Ramapo College, Morales-Wright was associate director of the Educational Opportunity Fund at Montclair State University, and held positions at Rutgers University/Newark and Kean University.
He served on the board of directors of Tri-City People’s Corp. in Newark and as president of that board from 1994-95, and as a member of the United Way of Passaic County’s Allocations Committee for at-Risk Youth. He was a member of the executive board and treasurer of the New Jersey Educational Opportunity Fund Professional Association from 1997 through 2000, and was awarded that group’s Distinguished Service Award in 1995.
Morales-Wright earned a B.A. in sociology at Fairleigh Dickinson University and an M.S. in counseling services at Upsala College.
