On the heels of being named a Best College in America by Money Magazine, Ramapo College now ranks in the top 8% nationally as a Best Value College by Niche for 2024.
Students and families seek assurance of a worthwhile return on their college investment, and that is what Roadrunners get at Ramapo. One of the more unique offerings for career readiness is the Pathways Program facilitated by the Cahill Career Development Center. All students complete modules as part of their degree requirements which include career assessment; resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile development; and interview practice.
An average of 87% of students are employed or in graduate school within one year of graduation. Perhaps it is because Ramapo College consistently outperforms national averages in graduation and retention rates, offers small class sizes with a student-faculty ratio of 16:1 and average class size of 21, and is committed to providing support services surrounding health and wellness, educational instruction, and advisement for all Roadrunners. The annual career fair on campus is a fruitful opportunity for students to network with companies and organizations for internships and job placement.
Niche’s algorithm secures data from reliable expert resources including the U.S. Department of Education and the National Science Foundation. Arguably as important to Ramapo College is the inclusion of and emphasis on student reviews factored into Niche’s rankings. The credibility the collective student voice lends to the analysis is particularly meaningful because it is authentic and from their lived experiences.
New to the 2024 methodology is the inclusion of the Economic Mobility Index (EMI) factor. The EMI factor is a measure used to assess the potential for individuals or families to improve their economic status or move up the income ladder over time. It typically considers various socio-economic indicators such as education levels, income distribution, job opportunities, social mobility, and access to resources. The EMI factor helps gauge the overall economic mobility within a society or region, reflecting how likely it is for people to achieve upward mobility or improve their economic circumstances relative to their starting point.
