MAHWAH, N.J. — Ramapo College of New Jersey is pleased to welcome distinguished professor and noted political contributor Dr. Marc Lamont Hill as the keynote speaker for the annual Diversity Convocation to be held on Wednesday, February 24 at 3:30. Admission is free and open to the public.
Dr. Hill’s lecture, “Building Community in an Hour of Chaos: Progress in the Age of Obama,” offers a critical analysis of the current social and political moment. Dr. Hill spotlights the work that must be done to sustain the progress of the freedom struggle and provides concrete solutions and possibilities for healing our national, local and university communities.
Dr. Hill is a distinguished professor of African American Studies at Morehouse College, Atlanta, Georgia, and is one of the leading intellectual voices in the country on Black life in America. He is the host of HuffPost Live and BET News, a political contributor for CNN and Fox News Channel and the former host of the nationally syndicated television show Our World With Black Enterprise. He has received numerous awards from the National Association of Black Journalists, GLAAD and the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.
In 2011, Ebony Magazine named him one of America’s most influential Black leaders.
