This free workshop is designed for K-12 faculty and staff who are interested in learning more about developing a personal mindfulness practice that supports their teaching. The workshop with include a mindfulness meditation and discussion on how mindfulness can assist in the prevention of burnout and compassion fatigue and lower stress levels.
This workshop is a prerequisite for a second class will be offered in the spring with information about how to incorporate Contemplative Studies and Mindfulness into the classroom. Part 2 will introduce hands-on strategies for use in the classroom and will include a short introduction to the “.b” Mindfulness in Schools Program (mISP) curriculum.
Presented by Carol Bowman Ed.D. Associate Professor of Education with guest presenter, Joe Kiely, Northern Highlands High School.
Teachers will receive 3 Professional Development credit hours for their participation.
