This is a free orientation to the 8 week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Course (MBSR) being held on Thursday evenings with instructor Meg Chang, in collaboration with the Center for Mindfulness at UMass Medical School. An orientation class is required for the MBSR course. MBSR is an evidence-based method of mindfulness training developed at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. It can be an important adjunct in the treatment of a variety of health issues. It is also a very effective approach in reducing stress and pain while enhancing the ability to concentrate.
The course runs on Thursday evenings, from September 22 to November 17 (except October 13) with a full day retreat on November 6. The course will be taught by Meg Chang, EdD, BC-DMT, LCAT, in collaboration with the Center for Mindfulness at UMass Medical School.
Tuition is based on household income with discounts available for educators K-12, Ramapo faculty, staff, students, alumni and Friends of Ramapo College.
