Anisfield School of Business Symposium Explores U.S. Economic Future

by Lisa Ambrose  |  Winter 2021

Ramapo College welcomed former head of the Council of Economic Advisors Jason Furman and former head of the Congressional Budget Office Douglas Holtz-Eakin in the fall. Hosted by the Anisfield School of Business and organized by resident scholar Charles Steindel, Facing the Economic Future: A Symposium, Furman and Holtz-Eakin discussed key issues facing the U.S. economy and shared policies they would recommend to the winner of the U.S. presidential election. Such policies included the need to work on narrowing the federal deficit, though not necessarily at this time, and how the skills of Americans can be augmented in light of the ever-growing world competition. Students were able to participate in a virtual Q&A with the speakers.
