[B-227] When it comes to our identity, what do we consider ourselves first? Our ethnicity? Our gender? Our religion? When it comes to the characteristics that comprise our individual individualistic makeup, our lives cannot be pinpointed to single categories. Our lives are multi-dimensional and complex, however an individual can face multiple threats of intersectionality, a concept used to describe how various oppressions (racism, sexism, xenophobia, classism, etc.) are interconnected. By using a discussion based setting, this workshop aims to educate how our various identities shape us, the discrimination we are susceptible to, and how we can empower each other, both individually and as a community, through our collective differences.
