This panel explores how modern-day indigenous communities inLatin America have mobilized, asserted their presence, and influenced theircountries’ political discourse and agendas in ways that were unimaginable justa few decades ago. Using Peru and Chile as case studies, the panelists willreflect on the current socio-political conditions of disenfranchised indigenouspopulations and assess their roles as political actors in the region.
