Juan González, award-winning journalist and co-host of the independent news hour Democracy Now!, will give a Schomburg Scholar talk on the impact of the Latino 2020 vote, what the media missed and why it matters.  González will also discuss Puerto Rico, currently a colony of the United States, and new congressional bills to move on the island’s political status: statehood or self-determination?
