Performance and discussion of improvisation and interaction in Brazilian music for the class “Music in Latin America.” Assad will perform and discuss with students her music which combines popular songs of Brazil with jazz. Her virtuosity and inventiveness will stun students, while the demonstrations and explanations of their material will help students understand both the Brazilian genres and how contemporary musicians interpret them.
