This is the first of FEAtured Perspectives, a series of virtual conversations hosted by FEA in celebration of 10 years increasing access to international experiences through scholarships for students underrepresented in the U.S. study abroad population.

Who: Rick Steves empowers Americans to have European trips that are fun, affordable, and culturally broadening. He launched Rick Steves’ Europe in 1976 and produces a best-selling guidebook series, a popular public television show, a weekly public radio show, a syndicated travel column, and runs a successful small-group tour program that takes 30,000 travelers to Europe annually.

Journalist Karen Fischer writes regularly for The Chronicle of Higher Education, the New York Times, Washington Monthly, and more. She also has her own blog, latitudes.
