( H-129 Auditorium) The Brazilian Percussion Ensemble is open to all Ramapo students, with no experience necessary, to join. In weekly rehearsals, students learn to play many types of drums and hand percussion instruments, and develop musical skills at their own speed. The Ensemble plays music from a range of Afro-Brazilian traditions and regions, especially the Carnival parading groups in Bahia, Brazil. The director, Amarildo Costa, is an expert in these traditions, having grown up playing in major Carnival ensembles/organizations in Bahia. Come and try it out.
