Support the IGG Center

The IGG Center relies on donations to perform IGG case work, expand the reach of IGG to underrepresented groups, and conduct research on the uses of IGG and its ethical boundaries.

Your support will help fund the efforts of the IGG Center. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by the law.

IGG case work provided by the IGG Center is pro bono. However, agencies that refer cases to us must still pay for DNA testing and the fees to upload to FamilyTreeDNA and GEDmatch.

Here are some examples of how your donations, depending on the amount, can be used:

  • $450 – provides bioinformatics for a DNA profile
  • $2,400 – provides for a DNA profile to be uploaded to GEDmatchPro and FamilyTreeDNA.
  • $1,500 – provides for DNA testing on blood or semen
  • $5,000 – provides for DNA testing on human skeletal remains

Any donation amount will help the IGG Center in securing justice through the ethical and proficient use of IGG.

Teach Your Community About IGG

At the Ramapo College Investigative Genetic Genealogy Conference (RIGG) in 2024, attendees at our roundtable event came up with a novel idea to spread the word about IGG.

The idea — creation of a resource pack for simple and straightforward IGG education to be shared far and wide — has now been implemented by Ramapo College IGG Center.

These resources can be utilized to share with your local law enforcement agency, your state legislators, or your loved ones — to explain how IGG works and how it can positively impact your community.

If you have any questions about these resources or have ideas for adding to our IGG resource pack, please email Cairenn Binder at cbinder@ramapo.edu.
