We are excited to announce that we have officially transitioned from Yuja to Panopto—a new lecture capture and screen recording platform.

The Instructional Design Center continually assesses instructional technologies to address the evolving needs of students, faculty, and staff. After testing several options to replace Yuja, Panopto emerged as the top choice. Panopto provides instructors and students with a flexible set of tools to capture, edit and distribute video content for a wide range of educational purposes.

As of January 1, 2025, Ramapo College has officially transitioned from YuJa to Panopto. All Yuja content created prior to November 15th will be migrated for you.

Panopto Workshop

If you were unable to attend the Panopto workshop, you can access the recording here. You will need to log into Panopto (SSO) to view the video.

Panopto Access

You can access Panopto through the Panopto Video link in your Canvas course, or through the weblink.

Accessing Panopto in Canvas will automatically create your Panopto account as well as a folder specifically for that Canvas course.

To create your Panopto account and sync it with your Canvas course, follow the steps below:

1. Open your Canvas course and go to Settings → Navigation.
2. Enable Panopto Videos, then click Save.
3. Click Panopto Videos in the course menu.

When you record a Panopto video, you’ll be given two options to choose from:

1. Panopto Capture (browser-based, no installation required)
2. Panopto for Windows or Mac (application-based)
   • Install for Windows
   • Install for Mac
