This workshop will explain the basics of what Twitter is all about and how you can get started. Twitter is an online social network that allows you to quickly and immediately send and receive information in 140 characters or less. Learn about sending messages, called “tweets”. Learn about following other twitter accounts (individuals, businesses or organizations), so you can receive news and other information that is of interest to you.

Pedagogy Connection: This social media tool has numerous pedagogical applications, including everything from tweets about upcoming due dates or assignments to writing a collaborative story or poem. This workshop helps instructors leverage social media for increased student engagement.
